i dont know why they dont give us all the video settings, instead they took some away lol
I tried this, and while it works just fine - the GPU still screams like hell! That's my primary concern!
It seems like plenty of other folks with beefy builds face these issues! UE5 is a bad move, whenever I see a game coming out on this engine I tend to tune it out.
On the note of it looking nice - I argue this. I've seen Unity Demos that look exactly as this game does that are old asfk. This entire game could have been made in UE4, in Unity, probably GoDot with enough elbow grease! It's not making use of the intense engine it's running on, there's literally no point to it. It just feels like a choice based on a trend.
I had to refund. I'll buy this again when it's actually complete... Gaming status sucks. A game comes out and you have to wait 1 month so its actually finished and playable...
Refunded too until they fix it, shame too I was enjoying the game, was not enjoying the sauna my room became though.
Ironically, I think this more a thing to do with Jagex because some of the newer areas in Runescape (which I shouldn't have any trouble running) do exactly the same thing, in fact for a few weeks I could only run RS for about 20mins before it shut down, before some very clever person gave me some graphics tweaks which worked nicely (although new areas still send the GPU going mental, it no longer overheats and shuts down).
Sad really, but they seriously need to sort these problems out
You don't have to run it at max settings. You can lean more on up scaling and you can lock the fps to something sensible.
If you are trying to play a game at 4K 120fps that is a huge demand on any system.
So scale it down to 4K 60. Or use upscaling. Or both.
Also figure out which settings are the most demanding.
UE5 lighting at max uses a pretty expensive global illumination which looks fantastic but you can usually turn that down to get much better performance and most wont even notice the lighting difference after a while.
I don't understand why modern gamers are so incapable of tweaking their PC and game settings to get the desired performance.
I can run this game at Max but i prefer reduced GPU usage so i set DLSS to Performance and upscale to 4K and then lock my FPS at 60. Now my GPU is at a nice 75% and my fans aren't going crazy.
