Where to mine Jade?

Think they're supposed to be rare drops from mining ore, but I don't think the jades or opals are dropping right now.

iron ore has a chance for it , sapphire from gold ruby from silver opal from copper

When i first got to copper with bone pickaxe i got about 13 opals before i got enough bronze to build the tools and base items. i have not gotten a single gem since from any ore, including copper.

opal dropped for me but i honestly don't remember how or when i got it. however i only had 2, so my brother used it for a bow. i haven't found any other gems

i just got another opal while using the Rocksplosion spell

It might only drop if you're manually mining the ore. The spell for mining doesn't seem to drop gems.

Rocksplosion spell was working fine for gems before.

it was bugged. the formula still kind of is. for best results, use the lowest-tier pickaxe you can mine the ore you want gems from.

it seems to give gems on a per-hit basis, so manual mining is the best way to go.

i found 4 jade from iron ore in a dungeon. 0 jade from iron ore outside a dungeon. i don't know if it corresponds but take that as you will.

Gems come from fixed rocks.

Opal = Tin/Copper
Jade = Iron
Red Topaz = Silver
Sapphire = Gold

Tin/Copper is found all throughout the Fractured Plains and some in the Stormtouched Highlands.

Iron is exclusively in the Stormtouched Highlands

Silver and Gold are both in the Bloodblight Swamp.

Good news is the Gem bug is fixed, feel free to use your higher characters now.

I don't count dungeons/vaults because they have a mix of resources depending on the power level of the dungeon. I just wanted to give solid area information since most people aren't going to search dungeons/vaults for resources beyond the first time they enter them.
