RuneScape: Dragonwilds

NPCs?
Are there much in the way of NPCs?

Can any of them join you?

Are there any towns or villages, or is it just the rare lone NPC waiting in some random house?

I've watched a couple hours of gameplay from PartiallyRoyal and I think he only encountered two, a wizard and a ghost.

bump, sick of survival games with dead and empty worlds. It's been 15 years since this genre is popular and all of them are the same, zero evolution in this tired genre.

After 8 hours of playing, I've seen a handfull of npc's but they aren't very interesting and don't do much. Mostly lore/quest.

Light No Fire might change that, at leat from the trailer you can see cities and lots of NPCs.

To be fair some games have tried to improve upon it, and I feel they did to a minor degree. But it still fell short of what I would like to see.

That was kind of the impression I got. Game looks OK, but I really wish more effort went into that aspect.

That's true, but if they are all the equivalent of No Man's Sky NPCs...well, I very quickly lost interest in speaking to any of them.
Yeah, I won't even touch a survival game if its not doing something with NPCs, and has a wider setting that acclimates them. The ones that take that extra mile are the best ones in the genre. Everything else is too generic. Feels like I'm building things without a purpose.
