Gems not dropping?

So i have the gem prospector perk from mining and have mined a LOT of ore but not a single gem has dropped anyone know why?

I'm playing with friends and they're getting gems but I am not. I think it might have something to do with the world host?

me too. im currently looking for jade. mined gold,silver,iron but no luck. I got opal's from copper ore tho

Anyone figure out why? i cant find any opals either are they just SUPPPPPER rare?

My friend who was mining got us enough opals for some bows but that was it. He didn't get any opals after the hotfix either. No gems from any other ore today :c

I think some passives are just not working. For people (everyone?) cause I noticed the essence reduce weight passive isnt working for me and I have seen zero gems.

I mined 3 copper nodes and got 1 opal. I didn't notice it till after I smelted the ore though, so idk if that has something to do with it, maybe smelting it gives the opal?

Yep I'm having the same issue. Mined literally hundreds of ore. Not a single gem. (I'm the host).

i have a feeling your right about this hotfix prob broke the gem drops probably via perk. Granted i have not mined lower tier ore since yesterday and only been doing gold/silver today , ive gotten opal and jade about 15 opal and 5 jade not trying and have like 4 stacks of gold bars after smelting and no sapphire

or because you get capped at 50 perhaps that could be bugged and only while going from 16-49 can you get the perk to work

Definitely not this because I only just hit 50 and I have never seen a gem.

im assuming its bugged or SUPER rare. Trying farmed like 500 gold ore and still no sapphires.. Really want to make that weapon.

You NEED an iron pick otherwise it won't spawn
