RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Will progress be saved to the full version?
I wan't to play but I don't have time to put into a game that will wipe my progress.

Will my progress from EA carry into the final version or no?

As with nearly all EA games, there is a possibility that you will lose your save during development.

For the save concern, would say to wait until the game is out of Early Access.

It's not an MMO, so why would you lose your progress? Games like this never reset your character. At worst a game update might make your save incompatible, but that's very unlikely. Think of this like you would Enshrouded or Valheim. Your character is persistent though the updates.

Not getting a clear answer here, Is there an official discord where I can ask a dev or someone who knows for certain?

It's like asking if your progress will be reset in Assassins Creed if they do a game update. It's a silly question. Why would that happen? It's not an MMO where your character is saved on a multiplayer server.

The problem is, if essential game elements change, the savegame will not be compatible, this sometimes happens during development, eaven in singleplayer.

Having played alot of early access games, majority of the time you'll reset. Mainly because things become so incompatible or the newer versions add something that can't exist in the current branch and can't simply be added and needs a new save.

Thats just the nature of early access games, especially crafting survival early access games. Resetting is part of the gameplay loop.

It's not though. When certain games release you do end up with save files you can't use because the game changed so much. Unless you play offline with it or something along those lines, though you wouldn't have access to new content and all the good stuff. It's a valid question, obviously no one but the devs know that answer though.

But this is a situation where the character and the world content are two separate things. They can add to the world content without touching the character. It's the same with games like Valheim. The situations you describe are in different kinds of games where it's unavoidable. In this case, they would have to go out of their way to force a character wipe, which there is no reason to do on a solo game.

To be clear, if you don't want to risk losing anything, wait. Just as an example, “Rim World” *I think you know this game* was nearly ever 5-10 update not compatible with the old save. You only had the option to play the old version and miss the new stuff, or start over.

It has nothing to do with multiplayer or servers of the same.

Wait what? I thought runescape was a multiplayer MMO?

The original one was. This one is not. This is a single player or co-op game.

No chance. There s always a wipe on big updates and the release will need a balance.

Don't spread false information. Cite your source or GTFO. You have exactly ZERO history with the development of this game to support that statement. This is a survival craft game. Most survival craft games don't have that issue. Take Valheim for example. A character you made for Valheim in 2020 is still fully functional today.
