bow and arrow
Should you basically skip using the bow and arrow until they patched in the skill tree? or is it properly scaled?

been wondering this myself, bows are handy in the later zones though when enemies start scaling up and multiplying

I'm not bothering with Archery and use as little Magic as I can until the skills are added. That's just me though.

tbh the magic is still good. the air attack and knockback (with right click) is OP and the better staves scale the attack damage well.

How do you even craft a bow? The only option I have is arrows.

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. If you pick up flax (blue plant) you unlock the spinning wheel and you can follow that crafting line to unlock it.

Kill a bunch of different monsters and you get them. Feathers + fangs iirc for level 2 arrows.

i wouldn't skip it,arguably the best weapon in the game is the crystal bow since is special uses no ammo and does a scatter shot that stuns and the crystals explode in the mobs, not much can touch you rocking 2 ranger items and a wizard hat
I use the T4 Bow and Iron arrows and i mostly 2-4 shot mobs in the T4 zones.
I do swap to whip when needed as dodging and shooting is rough till we get stamina reduction on bows.

the Hunter's Stagbow is the better longbows with iron arrows you oneshot wolfs and 2-3 shot for mobs in T4 zone

for the shortbows, Crystal Bow is the best

bow at med lv is very good i`m amazed at how my hunters stagbow does good, if i get overwhelm with mobs i run o top of a rock and blast fireballs until it kills all group
Even without skills the bow is really powerful. I carry a longbow and shortbow and swap between them as needed.
It does quite alot of damage if you use it like Ranged Characters / magic characters in Runescape, kiting around obstacles or getting enenmies stuck while you shoot them to death. They will be better and more fun with a skill tree, but still have a use now.
If you look at the melee combat skills, it doesn't increase damage but saves stamina. For the bow, I think it will be the same: save stamina and not increase damage. The damage is mainly given by the weapon, that's why bows are so good.

We might get movement speed or some sort of new craftable ammos. Crossbow unlocks, ammo recovery.

I could also see a damage increase for charged shots or stealth archery type stuff. "Critical" hits on enemies at full health, or something.
