I completely understand that Runescape always had a pretty bad history with their players reaction to whenever they updated the character avatar look design for both male/female with most only being satisfied with either the Classic look or Old School look, till they changed it not once, but twice afterwards (perhaps thrice but cannot recall). Hell I may have been among the view who actually looked forward to the newest (now shelved) character avatar that would finally get the player to match Runescape's current artstyle goal.

Now come Runescape: Dragonwilds
Didn't even enter the world yet at the time of writing this as I literally just finished the character screen.
Damn, the hair options are basically non-existent, I really don't understand why even for just the beta alone, they could have taken at least half of either Runescape (they also have premium/purchasable) or Old School Runescape hairstyles (yes OSRS got new styles recently), at least half of them?

Then there's the hair color, holy bare bones, I think even Runescape "Classic" had more hair colors if I can bloody remember that, and that game was pixel'ed as hell at its age of release long ago!

The skin options, are also reduced when it comes to the standard options of either version of Runescapes that you choose to play, it would be pretty neat if they could add the special skins too from either of Runescapes to play around with as well (for those who don't play Runescape, Jagex sells you the special colorful skins like literally white, black, green etc, and Old School gives you these options during Halloween)

Finally there's the head options, honestly, I'm surprised we got to choose something in this area, and it opens the doors to hopefully more in the future.

I get it, it's a beta, but the amount of times the beta turned out to be no different from the final release had made me absolutely skeptical about early access in general sadly

The second problem is that it's a Jagex owned game, the chances that they try to sell you all the different hairstyles, skins, and who knows what else is almost guaranteed and this saddens me already at just the thought of it especially with all the recent controversies they keep landing on their bums that latest one being the whole membership fiasco.

Anywho, I am actually gonna try to play the game after this whole character creation topic.

Honestly, if they limited the human options with a chance that you'll actually be a different race in the future, that'd be slightly, but I highly doubt that we'd be anything other than human just like Runescape
