RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Early Access So Far
The game looks and plays fine. I don't mind the graphics but they aren't stellar. No crashes for me.

I played 4.5 hours.

Things I like:
The harvesting with spells is pretty fun vs. the traditional wack with an axe although there is still plenty of that given the cooldowns on the harvesting spells

Combat is as good or better than most in this genre which tends to be janky.

What story there is seems OK

Dying in a dungeon only requires running back to the entrance to collect your stuff

What I don't like:
Building is functional but a bit janky. I would really like to see flat roofs in the toolset.

The dragon spawns and raids on your base seem a bit out of nowhere. I have had them happen both day and night and at really low level. The first was 3 goblins and they steamrolled me the first time. The first dragon spawn was right after talkling to the questgiver. He spewed poison everywhere and trapped me in my base...

The spell that allows higher jumping has bugged out for me twice leading to death. REALLY ANNOYING! The first time I was jumping back off a ledge from a dungeon and just dropped to my death. (I had to use the spell to get to the dungeon) The second time was retrieving my gear after this death and it bugged again leading to yet another death. At the same time, raiders hit my base with me gearless. I decided to just leave and run back to my gear and a dragon spawned (Are you kidding me) I just logged out and here I am.

The drinking mechanic needs to be tuned down. While I have seen my first beverage upgrade, it seems like drinking is just constantly required so it becomes a bit of a time sink crafting water.

I know there is more content coming and I realize this is early access but overall while not a bad game by any standard, I don't see anything that elevates it over say Enshrouded.

Much of the experience is the same and it starts to get dull after a few hours.

I guess I will wait a bit and come back when the game is further along in development.
