A lot of those gathering spells just feel like gimmicks , such long cooldowns and long animations, Needless waste of time , speed them up and give them no cooldowns. Up the rune cost and let the player decide if they want to waste runes or time. The conversion ones are fine with cooldowns ,but still a bit long to be honest.
Edit: Also, thank you for taking the time to write an actually constructive post rather than the rabid frothing at the mouth others seem to be posting upon realizing this doesn't play like the MMOs (because it isn't an MMO of course).
I don't actually mind food and drink etc as a rule but there must be ways for your character to develop so that those sorts of things become less of a focus as you progress. From reading the posts here, apart from a minor tweak with some better foods and buffs it remains a PITA for the duration.
I am barely a few hours into the game and already I am entirely sick of the excessive food and drink mechanic.
Also the OP mentions the eating animation but I think all actions need to be uninterruptible. Being committed to a slow animation and unable to react to a new situation instantly is bothersome at best and deadly at worst.
Cheers.
There is tons of food that gives buffs and the gathering spells are literall gamechangers in the mid-/late-game. Agreed on the cooldowns though, glad they didn't add it on the jump skill though. Runecost is ignorable anyway, as you can craft runes by the thousands.
if anything, I don't see a real point in the conversion ones. Peaches serve no purpose and I have more bones than I know what to do with already.
sounds like a bug, as in my game mobs do get slowed down in water/poison
