Remove Hunger and Thirst!
It's so annoying. I want to play the game by exploring, fighting, leveling my skills, and building and furnishing my house, not NEEDING to feed myself every 5min! Let cooking be a skill solely to replenish HP and MP. Cooking itself is enjoyable but remove the Hunger and Thirst.

It's a survival game. Have you tried not eating or drinking?
I dont think you understand what a "survival" game is
I just don't like it going down when you're logged off. Get that ♥♥♥♥ out of there
Meh! But the amount of water is lethal, so dial it back by half feels more natural
The issue is a mixture of how fast it drains and how useless base food/water is. Stopping th draining so quick or up the amount of gains you get from consuming.

Last I checked you shouldn't have to eat 4 steaks and drink 4 glasses of water every five minutes to survive.

If you mix Water and Berries you make a drink that helps keep you from being thirsty all the time.

It needs dialling down by at least 50% or maybe even more. I love survival games, but the number that get released that have really bad eat/drink timers is quite considerable.

I played the pre-alpha test but will not be playing the early access, so I'm curious about this system: How does the current thirst/hunger mechanics work?

In the pre-alpha, the food system was identical to Valheim: There were different kinds of foods which granted different levels of Health and Stamina boosts for their duration. I noticed during a stream that this system has been replaced with just a generic hunger/thirst meter, is that correct? No more stat buffs depending on the quality of the food consumed?

The food system is pretty much like normal survival games from my experience. The bars decrease over time and you just need to eat food and drink water to recover. Can't remember when penalty you get if you start running low on them though.
One useful tip for drinking though is you can use dirty water on a campfire or anything else you can use to cook food to get clean water, which can be used with red berries to make an even better drink like Katey said.

That’s exactly it.. a GAME. Other survival games you have that option to turn off if you so please. Cause it’s a.. GAME. And I don’t remember eating 6 steaks and 4 glasses a water every meal to survive irl either.

They need to dial down the amount you need to eat, and the frequency, then it's fine.
Why do I need 2 pieces of meat to get one grilled meat, and then I need to eat 4 of those to fill my stomach?

At least lower it or make a creative mode. Yes thirst and eating takes up too much of the game!

Definitely they may look in to balancing Hunger and thirst metter.
And currently there is not real reason to make anything better than basic food and drinking water as there is no beneficial Buffs like ( Valheim / Enshrouded ) so it's fell like buissy work ATM outside HP regeneration...

Game have limited storage ( Inventor
/ chest have low amounts of slots and especially food stack are small ) and crafting lack quality of life ( you need to have resources in you inventory)

I dont think blanket removal is the best choice but instead give us sliders for things like games such as Ark have. Allow us to slow hunger and thirst down or speed it up, drop items on death or not, slower time of day or quicker etc.
