Factory settings? Did you update your BIOS to the new microcode?
If not then crashes are not due to the game, but due to your CPU getting hotter than the surface of the sun and degrading over time.
Set PL to the Intel recommended settings.
GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB
64GB DDR5 RAM
Odyssey OLED G9
Same issue.
After I end task an Epic Games helper it will launch the game and load the dev intro, then a few seconds in that intro I get the out of memory pop up. If I leave that pop up, up longer than a few seconds it seems to completely freeze my pc so I must manual shut down.
my display res was 2560 x 1440. I changed it to 1920 x 1080 and it ran without that pop up. So I made my character, if I try to create a world or join one the game just exits. Crashes.
At this point i have to agree.
Garbage.
It's not the games issue.
As pointed out above, if you are using an i9 14900k you wlll not be able to run UE5 games without crashing sunless you either manually set your PL in BIOS or update to the Intel recommended settings with the micro update.
Shader compilation in UE5 maxes out CPU's, and your's is set to unlimited voltage if its on factory settings (4000w!) Your CPU will eventually die.
Good times.
It's not the 4090. its the 14900k
Update your BIOS if you haven't. If you don't your CPU is going to die very fast.
Shader compilation in UE5 games maxes out CPU, and yours is set to unlimited voltage thanks to shady MOBO manufacturers. Your CPU is maxing out voltage and shutting down to prevent further damage.
It's definitely not the settings, I have mine manually set for that exact reason and its still locking the game up. Wild they put a BIOS check to prevent people from playing their games is a first, guess they really think the GPUs cooking for New World was somehow the reason that game failed lol.
