Are the Pioneer items purely cosmetic?

Just curious if they give any kind of stat bonuses or not.

cape gives +2 melee/ranged/magic defense

scarf gives no bonuses but does count as a valid piece of the leather armor set thus granting the bonus in place of the helm

Hello, guys in my game the pioneer items doesnt exist in the crafting table so i can craft them, any idea why? i have everything downloaded, maybe a bug?
