Yeah controller support is completely borked. Can't navigate certain menus, can't confirm/initiate crafting at all. Can't adjust controller sensitivity, just to name a few. It's ACTUALLY unplayable unless you have your mouse and keyboard at the ready... which kinda defeats the purpose.

I get that it's in beta... but man. I promise that if they had a single QA tester TRY playing on controller for more than three minutes, they would have encountered the blatant controller issues.

I am getting the same problem. Settings say that you can crouch with the controller by clicking the R joystick, but it opens the chat window instead. Tried changing key and I have to restart the game because I cannot escape from the window that pops up!

Yeah had to stop after about half an hour. Was unplayable with the issue actually crafting something. Picking things up from the ground isn't exactly convenient either. Hopefully the controller support is cleaned up. Seems fun otherwise

Hopefully the controller support is cleaned up. Seems fun otherwise does not work very buggy
controller support needs fixed. Honestly even for early access it's unacceptable for controller support to be this broken in a UE5 game with how many input solutions already exist and how easy it is to map inputs across multiple devices in UE in general.

You would imagine that if they had at least a singular person boot up the game with a controller they would have noticed. Hard to believe that they QA'd it with controller AT ALL.

Yeah I kinda expect that they didn't do that with the actual build they shipped lol if I had to guess it worked at some point on an internal build and they broke it with a later change but didn't properly test again with a controller

You play on a pc or laptop? Then you always have a mouse or keyboard at the ready? Or do you unplug your keyboard when playing with controller?
I’ve currently been using keyboard and controller, it works pretty well.

I do get an issue sometimes when the game locks up and will only accept the keyboard, takes a little button mashing for it to start swapping between the inputs seamlessly.

I also have set my right joystick to function as a mouse so I can have a decent sensitivity
I started "testing" this with a controller to see if maybe I could play it on my ROG Ally.. The controller support is there kinda.. definitely not enough for me to feel comfortable playing with just a controller. Glad I found these other posts because ngl I was about 20 minutes into troubleshooting why my controller was not working properly.
I hope we get a solution for this.. mnk is fine when im at home but I have a lot of downtime away from my house where I really would like to play on my handheld.
