I'm trying to find this out as well. From what I'm seeing in livestreams it appears that perhaps enemy variety and randomized enemy AI encounters are supposed to be a selling point that other games don't have. As in enemies actively seek you if you're in range or whatever. I could be wrong though.
i dont own it but seems like its legit runescape, i remember killing chickens and cows when i first started the original game

survival games is a genre, just like fps, racers, open world etc, they're all the same crap, it matters who makes one that balance out well and works really with solid gameplay a theme which no developer has yet mastered out in any of this genre except close maybe valhiem. There are some good ones here and there but there hasn't been an ultimate one.

If you find it the same like any other then this isn't the genre for you or perhaps you need to find a new hobby because all games are literally going to be the same thing eccept for a gimmick here and there.

it has a skill system similar to Runescape, which means you get the drip-feed dopamine of number going up. Additionally, the spell system is different (it can be used for many of your crafting and gathering needs, similar to Runescape) from any I've played, but I'm not addicted to the genre or anything, so I'm content to be corrected on that. It has an invasion system, which I feel like was in Valheim, but I didn't play that often.

Basically, if you're looking for something groundbreaking, I don't know if you'll find it. But if you're looking for more of RuneScape, its tone, atmosphere, and approach to game design, with a more action-oriented bend, then it may be the survival game for you. Maybe pick it up in the future at a discount, or wait for some streamer to show some of the game off for ya, I guess. I've enjoyed the time I've been able to spend with it is all I can say so far.

Does it feel as grindy as Valheim? Valheim feels grindy in a bad way. It's hard to take that and make it feel good. Does this game do that in your opinion?

I would love for it to actually be runescape themed, but it's not. Stone pickaxe, really? What is this rust? No lumbridge, no varrock, nothing. Just a empty map with goblins, rats, and chickens... this is not runescape themed at all, it's just a bad crafting RPG that they're charging 30 bucks for.

Im waiting for evidence this isnt survival slop cashing in on the Runescape name...

After watching streams all I can say is that it looks like every generic survival game. I can't see what new or different mechanics or content they actually bring to the genre.
