Yeah nah im sorry but those are listed as some modern mmorpgs that arent grapsing that style that the amazing MMOs we had back in the day like Original Runescape, Evertquest, or Star Wars Galaxies. They get so dull now, This one could have been an amazing MMORPG

Because it wouldn't be healthy for the game. Social media and Discord killed MMOs long ago. The popular ones now are only maintained by 35+ year olds. All that happens when a new MMO releases is the people from WoW, XIV, ESO, etc all decide to come try it, bash it for not being WoW 2.0 or XIV 2.0, then it dies a slow death because new players are too afraid to try it.
The truth is, gamers are crying out for a new age modern MMO.

A 'problem', though, is that there is a sizeable quantity of gamers that are solely console gamers now. There are also a lot of those console gamers seeking something new and exciting.

Most RPG games these days tend to go for smallish scale MP instead of full-scale MMO (large populated worlds) to allow for the game to be compatible on multiple platforms. Think Eldenring, Dark Souls, etc. Minecraft is an interesting comparison, because some community-run servers ended up being that populated they practically turned into an MMO in every respect.

There are also mobile gamers to consider. I'm sure we all know how popular OSRS and maybe RS3 were when Jagex released their respective mobile versions.

Technically, the modern definition of what most of us consider a MMORPG has changed. It is no longer defined by hugely populated worlds/server clusters & channels. Some companies choose to stay in the past, some embrace the present and others create the future.

In summary, I'm very excited for the release of Dragonwilds. 😎🧙‍♂️

MMOs are difficult to maintain and that bubble popped a while ago. Jagex having a third MMO to compete with the other two in the same franchise that are still being updated is kind of a stupid business move. Just go play Guild Wars or FFXI or something man there are so many out there you can try instead.

The Quinfall 😂😂😂😂
Probably cuz how requested a single or coop runescape is. They already have an MMO why compete with themselves when osrs is popular.
They already split their player-base into two with OSRS and RS3, now you want it to be split into thirds?

Half is generous lol rs3 doesn't have as many players from my understanding by a long shot.

I'm glad it's not a mmo, most mmos are wash/duplicates nowadays. A Runescape themed valheim seems dope

both not growing runescape 3 just feels dead and extending the grind which hurts the game
