Will we have to create a new save on major updates like the new zone when its added?

So many early access games lately come out with updates that require a new save to play the new content. I don't want to go crazy on gathering a bunch of mats for building if I'm just going to have to restart it all.

you can just as easy take your current char with a pack full of crap to a new world.
Not that it will ever be needed as it is a singleplayer game, there will never be any need to wipe anything.
