Unable to load character 85+hrs gone..

I've completed the game and sunk 85+ hours into my account. However, upon trying to login today my character will not load at all. It loads two loading screens and then goes back to the start menu. Can someone please help?

You could try using the .backup version of your character to see if it'll work, since the main one isn't working. If you use steam cloud saving you might have to turn it off, I'm not sure. I don't use it for this game.

Yourname here is whatever your computer's account name is.
Navigate to your default drive
(typically c:)/users/yourname/AppData/Local/RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveCharacters
In here you'll find your character.json and character.json.backup. Move the character.json somewhere else and remove the .backup from the other file. That should let you load your backup as your main file now.

Same process can be done for worlds in the SaveGames folder. Someone not too long ago had a corrupted world from a power failure but was able to restore it from the .backup version.

Thank you for your reply, this hasn't worked unfortunately. Its asked me to re create my character. Upon doing so I am back at the start of the game.

Mayben is a cloud suggestion glitching and maybe corrected through time...

Maybe try also clearing the cache file is not lloading the cloud save properly and can make sure the game files are not re obsoleted byg something in game... Going to settings and checking the integrity of the files for the game.

pretty much having the same issue. trying to join and server throws me back at the title screen, i can make a new server and play on it but after awhile the same thing happens and i cant join it either. Tried everything in the forums, nothing works. uninstalling -_-
