Hint Password Puzzle
I gave in, looked up answer, then spent just as long figuring how they got the answer,
i only wanted a Hint, and the only official hint has nothing to do with it, and the solution don't help,
So Here is my Hint.
it's only a hint.
You've found the password on the wall.
you've seen the things pop out with the letters on.
For the solution you ONLY need those to bits of info.

This was where I was actually fully stumped as well and had to stop. Later I gave up and looked up the answer and it seems like a logical leap to how everything else solves in the game.

Am I stupid or are the numbers on the wall suppose to correlate with other set of code?

Most of the puzzles feel like: "Here's some logical clues. Now use it to perform this logic puzzle." This one feels more like, here are some random numbers. It's to throw you off the actual letters and numbers that you need for the actual password.

Totally agree with this. I thought the numbers were the order to put the letters/numbers into, since they're sequential. But I still don't get how you're supposed to figure it out. Do the numbers on the wall even matter?

edit- nm I got it lol

Enjoying the game, but this still doesn't make sense to me, even after looking up the answer. I've seen about half a dozen hint/walkthroughs for this section and, even if they are pretty explicit for the prior puzzles, this one always amounts to:

  • There's an eight-digit password on the wall
  • There's an eight-digit code in the pop-out cabinets
  • ???
  • The computer password is MRGT2033!

I assume it must be something really obvious that I've been too dense to see, but I'm not seeing how the password and code are related. It would be nice if someone could spoiler an explanation here.

I also had trouble finding it. My initial focus was that the numeral sequence under password was the order in which you had to shift around the discovered sequence ; not the actual order in which you had to enter each symbol of the discovered sequence.

Because I still had trouble, here is a SUPER spelled out solution:
RT320GM3 (symbols on the bars) corresponds to 71624538 (wall #s)
the 7th symbol is M, the 1st is R, the 6th is G... etc to reach the final solution of
MRGT2033

This was immediately obvious to me (I had much more trouble with other puzzles). It's a strict "pick out the symbols based on the numeric positions" type puzzle.

As others mentioned, the wall password is actually the sequence order
