right solution is wrong solution???

Okay with the Reynolds id door puzzle the code on the bottom of the bed is NSDRYLOE Which we worked out as 48713652 but the right code is 48517632 so we had the right way of working out the code but three of the numbers were wrong even with right code working it out backwards it still doesn't make sense. we worked it out as N being the 4th letter, S being the 8th, D being the 7th, R being the 1st
Y being the 3rd, L being the 6th, O being the 5th and E being the 2nd meaning the code should be 48713652 so still can't see how the 7 the 3 and the 5 are wrong

so any help in where we've gone wrong or more importantly how you worked it out would be great.

The thing is that you only had half of the clues!
You also need to read an ID card in the table that says that the ID is "REYNOLDS", so you have to translate each character to each number so the solution is "REYNOLDS" and not "NSDRYOLE"

I'd just like to add to this on a different later puzzle. It's the one with the password that's 71624538 and you get these under RT320GM3, but the order doesn't fit the solution (which I had to look up online) which is MRGT2033, but using those numbers you'd get t2m0g3r3, and in order to get the actual password the numbers would have to be 37512468. Unless I'm missing something?
edit: After watching someone else playing through the game (after playing it myself) I realise my mistake with the above puzzle and why I was getting it wrong.
