Just ignore him, hes a clanman trashbag.
I get it, 1 dude, can't stop, 1 clan army of 20, but i've never found in then hundreds of hours i played, a clan that didn't let me get resources or anything, would even say totally the opposite, some clans GIFTED me Tanks, and Ammo, Petrol and Gear by the hundreds, and asked me join their missions and assaults just for the sake of having more strength in the mission they were organizing, and i agreed because i wanted, and it ended up being rly fun. but i declined joining them.
I mean with all respect, as a solo player, you can also accomplish with some luck and skills, with just a rifle and what u find lying around on the Field, as partisan, you can make a huge difference in battles, on the big picture war too, PLUS if u have only 1 friend (i assume everybody does) i took down 5 enemy tanks and like 30 infantry alongside 1 whole town base and it's defenses with a Gallagher Cruise Tank we found and then swapping for a BlackWidow Tank Destroyer, as the best i could achieve with only 1 friend and just 1 dude we meet randomly on the way at the side of the road, my friend was on his FIRST DAY PLAYING FOXHOLE, and was on Bob Marley influences which made him miss a couple shots.
I can only imagine most complains are about 1 random clan of crazy authoritarian players, but in case you come across 1 of those, you report and walk past that, find what you need and keep going.
Also if many players come across such clans, the accumulated reports are usually enough to counter them "if Siege Camp does his part" but you should start by doing yours exposing and reporting such clans.
To answer the question, Anvil empires does seem to have systems more conducive to solo play. With the notions of property rights, Greater personal storage, merchants, money and markets.
Some of the same things that make solo play difficult in foxhole will still exist, But as someone who's played both solo and clanner I will say this... Being organised doesn't explicitly have to mean being in a group.
Oil barons, Partisans and Fishermen/Pirates can attest to that.
2. Find a nice clan
3. Profit?
Also in Foxhole when walked solo I had countless pleasant interactions with random strangers where we had ♥♥♥♥ done
i suggest you write your congressman, or Santa Clause, or pray about it... :D
Foxhole is the worst game that made it to the mainstream audience.
Imagine a game where you rely 100% on big clans to even be able to play the game and if you want to play you have to do what they want.
This is a hilariously bad way to make the game and if i had known what i would be, i never would have touched it.
Why can't we have a faction vs faction game where everyone can fight, regardless of what bigger clans say.
And it's ridiculous how much micromanagement foxhole needs, just make a huge server and 2-3 factions and make it the main focus of bigger clans to defend the teritory while players can do their own things.
And they actually have to be nice to new players, not abuse them like it's real life.
I miss the days of planetside 2, where a solo could player could jump in an out without any complications and his skill was important.
Foxhole is just who listens to orders better and you only make progress if you play at certain hours.
A true mmo would allow the individual player to progress in his goals regardless when he plays or if there are enough people online
I haven't played foxhole could the solution be though to create a clan that is more "solo"? Like couldn't solo players essentially just band together and then go do your thing?
But as others said, the draw and purpose of the game seems to be more to group/work together.
People like you are why I will never return to it.
It sucks too because there's basically no games like foxhole that I know of.
Exanima maybe but that's obscure (and still being developed) & against AI for the most part.
There was a reason the foxhole devs abandoned player-built stuff early on in Foxhole's development cycle; because it was a nonsensical system that was killing off their playerbase.
But they keep refusing to back down from it.
