Mods of the old still work?
is the game enhanced in a way that it also looks better than that Mod? or did they just c+ program it to make it compat with windows 10 and have ultrawide. is it barebone enhanced or is there a huge difference? can any one say?

not hating gonna play the game regardless

nothing added or removed in terms of content. as you said its win 10 compat and have better resolutions / textures but it keeps the original style. i do not know the specifics but i think its a pretty faithfull version, not a "hd remake"

as for the mods compatibility, good question tbh

i saw someone using the selena mod, so i'd say its worth a try !!

No the mod still looks better especially texture wise.

Some textures might have been improved since the game size is larger but model textures especially rayne are the same low res textures from the original game, so no improvements there.

I looked at them with the modding tools to make sure. I'm gonna wait for someone to figure out a way to make the HD texture mod work with this version before i play this one.

FSAA patch can run with this version but it fails to inject the textures into the game.

Somewhat unrelated to the topic, but would anybody mind posting a link to or telling me how to get the aforementioned HD Texture mod?

Downloaded and installed one around a month ago after some googlin', but not entirely sure if its the same one being mentioned.

.

The original blog made by the mod author is dead at this point so there is no official link anymore.

I found the files from googling around and finding it from some mega link on some forum i cant remember anymore.

the mod has 4 zip files called HD0100.zip, HD0101.zip, HD0201.zip, HD0200.zip
The only way to install it was using the FSAA patch but that doesn't work with terminal cut for now.

Perhaps i should upload the files to nexus so they don't disappear completely since they seem to be pretty hard to find.

Nah, the reason for that is - "Upscaled cinematic videos" - , most likely.

I wonder why the devs kept the same textures... especially since they stated the following info:
> "Support for higher texture resolutions allowing for use of original, uncompressed textures"

Okay, then where are those original, uncompressed textures? are the devs expecting the modders do the job for them? or will those be added via a patch, eventually?

If any dev is reading this, please give us an answer in regards to OG higher-res textures.

Yes, please. That would be really nice of you.

I uploaded the files to bloodrayne 2 page of Nexusmods.

Youre right most of the size difference comes from the video files.

Tho i took a look into the files and some textures are larger apparently since the texture container size is 1.7GB in old game and 2.8GB in new game.

Don't know what textures are updated but for sure it wasn't rayne's model textures since i extracted them from both versions and they are identical 512*1024 pix. in size.

Kinda weird that they didn't update those especially since Rayne's model had higher texture quality in the first game, it was 1024*1024 pix in size even in the non terminal version.

In BR1 they used that to increase the resolution of pre-baked lighting textures.

That's probably the case here as well.
After I've gone through the pods, that's what it looks like, yeah.
