The Day Before

Why are people so afraid of pvp?
There are countless games out there that are and can be pve so why not just play those?
Pvp is just what is popular right now and sells well.

I can't speak for everyone obviously, but my only problem with 'forced' PvP in a game like this where you can lose everything to some hacker scoping you from hundreds of metres away is a big no no. Same problem with a lot of other similar games, *cough* Tarkov *cough*, because the high stake nature makes cheating far more of a problem than it is in other games.
I mean hell, PvP can be fun and gives that extra challenge and stakes, but for some people they just might like how the game plays and the concept of it without wanting that kind of challenge.

No one's "afraid" of PVP. Some of us just find it repetitive and boring.

No one is afraid of PVP but its telling that PVP fanboys always point to "Sells More" as a primary benefit. If there's going to be Permadeath (which allegedly there will be) then PVP will suck because you'll have established players in large groups destroying newer players and ruining the game for them.

Of course, that's also something the PVP fanboys love, making others' game experience miserable. People who are Great at PVP want everyone to have fun and enjoy the competition, but PVP Fanboys just want to feel superior and know they've upset others and made their experience worse.

You don't know anything about how the game will play. There is a group limit of 4 players and they could even have friendly fire and no name-tags above heads to determine friend from foe for all you know. They could make joining an instance with a 4 man group put in you a random server with spawn points that are very far away, making you have to rejoin servers and travel across the map a bunch of times to try and team up with another group. There are a bunch of different games to pull ideas from and different ways they could balance this that we know nothing about. There isn't even base-raiding in this game and you can stock up supplies by playing extra safe sometimes and aggressive other times.

Of course there will be cheaters here and there, but for players that don't care about progressing to the end and enjoy the journey and PvP, that isn't really a problem unless the grind to get gear is either impossible or not fun.

In the end, there are a ton of upcoming and already released games that are PvE and just like this one or similar. There is no shortage of games. It is a waste of your time going to MMO games trying to make them singleplayer, offline, coop, or whatever. They have the funds and time to put into one vision most likely. Maybe they make another game in this IP that is PvE later on, who knows.

They did say they will be working on "community" servers, so at least there's the RP and whatever else that comes from that. I just hope they don't co-mingle the two types of servers with only being allowed one character to transfer between multiple servers. Grinding loot in a safe server then using those supplies in a PvP server seems kinda lame and would probably kill PvP all together.

The game has PVP Built in already, so you need to learn to read better because I never once said "Make it PVE" or Single Player. My entire attack is on PVP Fanboys themselves, like the OP is, and how people like him just want PVP because they want to ruin others' fun and their only point about it being it games is "Sell more copies".
Also you seemed to have completely missed where I praised the people who are actually Great at PVP because they like competition and others to have fun.
Seems like you skimmed and just made typical assumptions. Lastly, a Moderator said there'd be Permadeath which is why I used the word "Allegedly" and how I was against the Permadeath itself. Good lord try reading before you write a essay.

I was mostly referring to you talking about large groups taking over servers without knowing anything about how the game plays. Might have went on a tangent about other stuff because of previous comments unrelated to yours though =/

Ok well I'm not those people. Also Groups of 4 doesn't matter because you can have multiple teams of friends making up several groups.
I also don't have high hopes for the game, the Devs have done a lot of shady stuff and have seemed like real douchebags so if you're hopeful, I'd avoid the Steam Page on release day because its gonna get bombed by a ton of people.
What I think will happen is the servers will be overloaded and people won't be able to play, which is gonna spiral the whole thing out of control.
I mean, they said the game was Finished in January of this year, but then the copyright issue happened and then suddenly in November, 10 months later, they're all "Oh its not finished, we need to release it in EA" so the whole thing is suspect.
Maybe it will be amazing tho, would be nice if it is and we get a decent MMO Zombie Survival game

Good PvE is more interesting. PvP tires you out quickly. There are also a lot of toxic people and jerks in PvP games.
Laostia Dec 2, 2023 @ 2:17am
it´s so easy, server PVP and servers PVE, and let people choose what they like
RocklandRaiders Dec 2, 2023 @ 2:59am
So PvP for me, i join world get killed, and it repeats so not really fun…
Some times i get set up and all then a group kill me take my stuff and im back to nothing again, so again not fun…

Now PvP for me can be fun, but not my best thing, i do prefer pve to begin with then go into PvP later if possible.

I wanted a open world zombie game and all, but sadly a PvP one will just annoy me once i die every second

Yeah, its fun for like 5 mins untill you die and then die and die untill you rage quit and the game just sadly lose players rapidly
Ailes Dec 2, 2023 @ 5:28am
PvP is like easy mode from a dev perspective. Basically anyone can throw out some PvP game and call it a day. There is that UE Lyra template that is a preshipped PvP mode ready to go. Also don't have to update PvP as often and when people should complain about balance issues you can always argue: "git gud"/"skill issue".
