people are buying digital ships for real money so its the customers fault again.
At least they get what was advertised.
Not defending Star Citizen here, but they actually managed to sell a vision not a complete game for 11 years lol
No. SC is nothing but an endless cashgrap. But lets not go there.
I am Sparticus...
I just haven't because it seems like the difficult ship piloting got more difficult lol
Unlike The Fail Before, Star Citizen is an actual game with more fleshed out features in its current alpha-beta hybrid state with very clear-cut goals and a long-term plan to continue building upon the game. They have constant updates about where they want to take the game.
People call it a scam because "hurr durr you're buying ships for 500 USD and it will never get finished." The part about completing the game is a valid concern. I would like to see it fully realized one day.
As for ships, the reason for the costly ships is because CIG is using it as a form of crowd-funding. That's why this project has been going on for so long. Spending $600+ dollars for certain ships is ridiculous, don't get me wrong. That is for the an ultra fan to decide if they want to drop that amount for a ship. At least they can get perks out of it like Life Time Insurance and keep it permanently with their fleet.
Besides that, all you need is the $45-50 starter ship and you're good to go. I think nearly all of the flight-ready ships in the game can be obtained with in-game currency. No need to spend real money. I had around 5 ships before they recently reset everything on the last major update.
For a game that people have been calling a scam for years, it sure has continued to expand and improve (albeit at a glacial pace), yet again proving people wrong. Don't misunderstand. I hate how slow it is going as well, but progress is better than none. Look at it this way. If they wanted to actually scam people, CIG could have stopped making the game 10 years ago, yet here we are.
Its a mismanaged project thats showing some promise now. But with how CIGs been acting the past decade it may take another decade to get to a beta lol.
