The Day Before

The Day Before

What exactly WAS the appeal of this game?
Let's put the trainwreck of a launch to the side.

Hypothetically let's say this game came out as promised...

Then what? Even the best trailers for this game made it look like a super generic copy paste of several other similar titles oversaturating the market.

I just don't get where the appeal initially came from. I know a ton of people probably bought the game just to farm jester awards with reviews. But I'm sure lots of people also were genuinely looking forward to this...

But why?

It was supposed to be an "open world/sandbox survival game"
Kinda like DayZ without the infected.

the market for survival games is huge.
but nobody can get it right.

a good zombie game with pvp, survival , etc - where is it ?

It was supposed to be a large open world survival game, like SCUM or DayZ. Assuming you pick a server to play on and that's the server you log onto everytime you play. You build your base and survive against other players on playing on that server. The gameplay trailers illustrated a different approach to survival than what SCUM or DayZ has now. if The Day Before actually released as intended it would've been a great survival game

Honestly, I think Ubisoft missed a pretty big opportunity to make The Division games a survival type game rather than an RPG.

Only other open world survival game I like currently is SCUM, but in terms of survial games, zombies are too overdone which is why I think The Division would've been huge survival game given the unique lore of the game.

Rooted and Deadside both look like a promising survival games.

I just wanted The Division with survival elements, zombies and some vroom vroom cars...

What we got was a flaming paper bag on our doorstop full of poop.

DayZ and scum are the only ones actually worth playing THB.
I have played quite a few others including the terrible game Mist and
the newer no one survived.

The Division with zombies would've been r-tarded. Zombies are too overdone is post apocalyptic games. I think The Division could've been a great survival game if it went in that direction given it's lore.
