How many millions did they make from this?
18,000 reviews on Steam. Only a small fraction of people who buy a game will bother to leave a review no matter how much they love or hate it.

active player count only reached 38k and was trailing 6k after that I don't think that much. Their servers couldn't even support that number so I think they met their quota for the scam though.

They made nothing. Valve only pays out the devs every 30 days, the game was only online for 4 days. All the money is still with Valve and they offer unlimited refunds for it right now.
They actually LOST money since they had to rent the servers in advance.
Could not have happened to nicer people.

Can you confirm this? You can refund the game even with >2 hours played?

Dude on reddit got one after 40+ hours

None, Valve holds the money for 30 days for situations like this. Odds are everyone who bought it will be given a full refund as it has been pulled from sale on the store page. The devs will walk away with nothing at this point.

According to reports that is the case. You have to do a manual ticket if you are over 2 hours since the automated refund system will deny it but it seems every manual refund request so far was granted for this game, no matter the play hours.

no less than 9 millions as a guesstimate going around
Numa Dec 11, 2023 @ 1:38pm
Most likely a huge loss for them, since they had to shut down
