Quote from Hypetrain Publishing (which owns The Wild Eight):
"Following the release of The Day Before on December 7, 2023, a wave of negative reviews for The Wild Eight began, unrelated to the game itself but associated with the original development studio, Fntastic. Yesterday, we made the decision to remove any mention of the developer Fntastic from the game's page."
"Fntastic was the original developer of The Wild Eight, but after the game's release in Early Access, the developers decided to discontinue work on the project due to internal reasons within the studio. Hypetrain Digital took over the development independently. All business relations with Fntastic were terminated in 2017,"

Anyone who liked this game, want it back or is sad it is gone huff glue and drink petroleum. We are now at the age where the smartphones are actually smarter than the "Gamers" who live connected to it. They forgot how to think. It is beyond depressing.
No, they did not. READ what was QUOTED.
Hypetrain Publishing *changed* the developer name to "Eight Points" on Steam to remove any association with Fntastic because Fntastic *doesn't own* The Wild Eight.
-
And Hypetrain Publishing which *does own* The Wild Eight, doesn't need negative reviews being left on their property because Fntastic was still listed as the developer, even though they sold the game to Hypetrain back in in 2017.
-
Also, Fntastic cannot change the information on a Steam page if they do not *own it*. If they did, then ALL of the titles made by Fntastic would all sudden be showing the new name... They aren't.

Carefull, most people on this place of the forums of steam, will go after you, for providing some actual facts and truth, will most likely call you things....they cannot handle truth.

Guys, Alex here, former developer of The Wild Eight.
I can not disclose how the internal affairs of the company go, but I want to speak out as a real human being.
The game was sold because of legal problems with unscrupulous partners within company (not with the publisher, we really appreciate the support and work of HypeTrain).
Something bad happened, and the whole development team felt very bad about it. We did not want to betray the trust of our community, but we simply had no other choice.
That's life. There is no big tragedy here. The most important thing you should know
that the game continues to evolve. As d.a.dekhs said, the game will be finished, filled with new stuff and released as planned.
By the way, before we transferred the project to HypeTrain, we did a lot of work on the game, so even when the final version of the game is released - remember that the influence of the original
developers will still be here. Thank you for listening.
Then it was even mentioned back then on their Steam page.
"What happened to The Wild Eight?
We sold The Wild Eight to our publisher. This decision was very hard for us, because our team was hoping to always evolve the game. The Wild Eight is our debut project, it brought us first success and valuable experience. But nevertheless, because of internal conflict with partners within the company, we had to sell the project to the publisher, who is now successfully supporting the project. We will always love The Wild Eight, it's in our hearts."

Then Eurogamer talked to HypeTrain:
UPDATE 5pm UK: Hype Train Digital has confirmed to Eurogamer why it changed the developer on Steam for The Wild Eight from Fntastic to Eight Points.
The change was made yesterday, which Hype Train has confirmed was due to the game receiving negative reviews on Steam following the debacle with The Day Before.
"Fntastic was the original developer of The Wild Eight, but after the game's release in Early Access, the developers decided to discontinue work on the project due to internal reasons within the studio. Hypetrain Digital took over the development independently. All business relations with Fntastic were terminated in 2017," reads the response to Eurogamer.

If Fntastic really renamed you wouldn't just see it on The wild eight too because it would reflect on all store pages of their games. Also from what i researched the original Team was just a few people called Eight Point but they grew while developing the Wild Eight and then had internal conflicts. The Original Devs split away the game got sold and the left over Staff renamed to Fntastic. HypeTrain wanted to still leave them the credit to the While Eight but when TDB hit they wanted to distance themself rightfully so.
Fntastic deserves Sh*t but not an innocent publisher who has for years nothing to do anymore with them.
It's quite alright. They're too busy having a crisis over the fact their "genre-defining mmo" didn't even make it more than 4 days.
Not the best move i agree but i have mad respect for them for pulling this off, imagine there were no refunds like in the old days.
Because the original dev team that was on that project is long since dead and buried. They broke up after the title was sold to HypeTrain and the few remaining people left went on to form Fntastic.
Because it would seem that the majority of the dev team then, were largely not the scumlords we have today.
Kek.
Haven't seen so many idiots in years
You haven't provided any "proof". random user on Steam in a locked thread claiming to be a developer isn't the proof you think it is.
I agree, I havent seen so many mouthbreathers in one place in a long time. This is the kind of ♥♥♥♥ why we have stupid games that focus on online play with no story content because gamers today are too stupid to know anything more than a mindless run and gun kind of game. Its also why many games I loved disappeared by developers/publishers trying to reach out to these mouthbreathers and killing genres off such as the sub sim genre that was great with the Silent Hunter series that peaked with Silent Hunter III then started to fall off with IV and then was killed off with V with its total removal of simulator aspects in favor of more arcade like features.
At the end of the day, if they were to rebrand as was stated multiple times it would have the rebrand across all titles and its not, this is about as stupid as the conspiracy theories around Titanic that have never been a real possibility that people today think are real but back when it happened it was never even a thought cause it was so stupid.
