This scam reveals the main problem ...
People forget to fast ...

Do you remember, how i told you all that all of this will happen back then ...

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1091500/discussions/0/3106889614407292274/

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
EDIT: All of you should watch this video from 10 month ago, where a guy not only warned about this release, he also warned about the guys behind it ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOSYvHg_IbE
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Yeah i did and i begged for help to stop it. I was in every forum when such bad releases came out and warned you all again and again and again. This time is the last time i warn you all. This here was just another turningpoint in the industry, like cyberscam back then, you will see. Because other studios have understood what these guys really did here.

I have seen that at least half of the community has no clue what happened here. This was not only a planned scam from the very beginning, they also knew that they would only get around 1-3 million dollars from steam users and yeah they will. Because some white knights who really think this game was meant seriousy, will most likely keep the game. In addition, as someone else said, these guys surely had some investors.

Also, the development time for this title if you can even call it like that, was far lower then most people think. I personally think they not even needed 12 months for this and now asume they maybe made around 1-3 million plus. Not bad, isnt it hmm? Like i said, other studios will now think about this, like they did back then with cyberscam and some of them will do it themselfs. Thats what i warned you about back then with cyberscam and most of you laughed and i know, many will laugh again.

Stand up as a human with rights and a gamer with standarts and put a stop to this ;-)

Here 2 Videos wich explain what happened here for the most part ...

At least one guy wich thinks a few steps ahead, much appriciated >>>

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIzurQuAJF0

German video from a guy who followed this from the very beginning >>>

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSRNEOwKbbY

Wake up, stand up for you rights as human and gamer ;-)

You think you can help people to understand, I'm sorry.
Thanks you for making research and sharing your knowledge, I'm sad that they do not care.

It is not only about video games, it is about all their life.

I know it looks easy to see what is a scam in a video game, but they can not see it, like they can not see they are all slaves.

They can not understand that this scam failed, because of good people and some nice "troll"

Just launch UE5, watch some tuto, and you can understand they made this demo in 6 month, you said 12 month, you are too good :)

I don't need your advice, but I thanks you because you are trying to help people.
have a good day

"“A lot of good ideas from our team were disregarded because [Eduard and Aisen] didn’t approve them. Like voice chat. Anyone who complained too much was kicked off the team"

Voice chat in the trailer, also when the player talk, the character do some emote by itself LOL, just a scripted gameplay / cinematic

Alpha male Bionicle Avatar,
The Crash of '83 is due for a repeat. It cannot be stopped. It is the only way that people will stop buying Early Access and Microtransactions. You post here on Valve's Steam, the epicenter of both in Western PC gaming. I salute your mission, as a 00s Gamer, but I do not believe you will be successful.

You remember when DLC were free, COD4 for example, each update gave some map.

after the success , thanks to kids on console, they asked us more and more money, by cuting content, and sell it by DLC.

I remember when EA sold a DLC, and the DLC was already in game (nothing to download), you paid to unlock a locked game that you already paid.

etc etc..

I'm sure some people are paid to speak on forum to tell, game at 60$ (60€) are too low price, it is normal to pay 80 or 100$ for a game because of triple A

They are making profit. They never loose money or they do not exist.
they just want more and more, thay want all your money and your time, that's all.
it is not human, it is a company

and how is the studio running away with money when the money has yet to be given to them by steam? Not to mention the studio gave the okay to steam to refund everyones money.

So how exactly is the bullsh*t you say that they are running away with money true when they havent even gotten money from steam yet?

They failed to scam , that' all,.

not what the OP said, he said that they knew they could only scam a couple million from steam users and that they did. That is not true, they didnt scam anyone and they havent even gotten money yet as steam holds onto the money for 1 month before they start sending the publishers cut to them. This all happened in the span of days so they are not cut and running with $1.0-$2.0 million from steam they quite literally have $0.00 from steam to their name.

Braindead consumers are driving the industry... people pre-order horsesh*t game after horsesh*t game... there's nothing you can do about it
Now after DLCs, gamepass (to unlock progression that the game should give by default), the new meta is to make people pre-order games (even solo) to give an early access to broken game (Payday 3 is a great exemple)

Make some search about what they did in the past.
You will see what they are.
It is not about having the money in the pocket, they failed because they are dumb maybe.
Please, just read all about them, after we can talk, because I can not change your mind, you have to see it by yourself, so you can make your idea.
Right now, it is clear that you don't know anything, because we are just trying to help the gamers to understand better that ALL IS a BUSINESS.

I'm sad for Devs who worked hard on this demo made in 6 month on Unreal engine, I'm sad for everyone except people who knews what they are doing, it is not a failed game, it is a failed scam

You need them to achieve their goal (scam) to understand, or just make some search like a journalist or an video game enthisiast. You don't need any forum, forum are here so you can make your own search.
No one can change my mind, they can just tell me, and I have to see it myself so I can agree or disagree or what ever

GOod bye have a nice day before I quit I just don't care about this video game, I hope you are happy in life c ya

I do that since at least 10 year now, because im afraid about my hobby and its community and yeah its true, most people still dont care, thats the sad reality :_(

Its true, this is not just about gaming, this happens everywhere especially in politics, but i dont want to talk about that here, i care only about gaming on steam, its hard enough :-/

It is easy to see what a scam is when you know what you have to look for and you can see if a game was made by real gamers or by people wich try to deceive such for money ;-)

Yeah the UE5 tutorial advise is very good, i also recommand to every single one to watch such guides/tutorial, to understand how easy its is to make such an asset flip ;-)

Well i see my words rather as a warning, as i did back then with cyberscam and i know today, that at least a few peoploe were listening or learned from what happened ;-)

I know very well how they used their own employees as a some kind of meatshield and they even fighted them at some pojnts and threw them out, extreme disgustibng :-/

Thanks for your words and please keep sharing the truth ;-)

I dont know what is wrong with my avatar as a fan of Warhammer40K, but i guess what you said about it fits very well for your your avatar xD

You say it cant be stopped, only to say in the next line that it can be stopped. You would be a good german politican, i know what im talking about, im from germany ;-)

Yea exactly, i post here where most gamers read and discuss games and instead of trying to make me look bad, you could have support me and we would be a step further :-/

Oh i remember CoD and when the first paid dlc came out. I said to my freinds, if we buy this, we gouing a dark route and they just laughed and said "its only a few bucks, come on". I knew very well what was coming, thats why im doing this since all these years ;-)

Dude. these guys do that since years, they make their share of money with this as it was planned. What do you think why they keep the servers running for some time. Not everyone is aware of what happened, some people buy games and leave them untouched for weeks or even months, i did that myself already many times. Some white knights as i said will keep the game only to prove their point and some others just keep it to support these scammers, becasue they believe they were just naive developers, think pleaee ;-)

Please think, ofc they got money, from investors for example and even if they only got money from them, thats already enough damage. As i said above, some people will keep the game for what ever reasons. The point here is that we should prevent such scams in the future. Call me what you want, but try at least to do that, everyone of you please ;-)

Thats what people tell me every day and i have not given up, i cant. But guess what, a few people have learned and gave bad reviews instead of supporting half baked releases and thats a step forward. Im watching this very closely and some people have changed. The changes only come very very slowly, but i believe we can win this at some point ;-)

I must apologize for mistaking the identity of your avatar. I am only familiar with Warhammer Fantasy, and your avatar resembles the designs of 2001 Bionicles.

I do not mean to disparage you by association. I only meant to say that you are in the belly of the beast, posting here.

The task of propagandizing consumers to exclusively buy finished games will be massive. Companies like Valve are infallible by message board dogmas. Youtubers and such derive their income by advertising for game developers and gaming peripherals. And consumers, of all ages, are seemingly content with throwing money at skinner boxes, Gacha slot machines, endless remakes, etc.

In my belief, change will only happen when enough people get ripped off. The precedent for this is 1983's ET. The market will follow demand, and nothing will be more effective at changing consumer minds than a painful disappointment.

In the specific case of The Day Before, of which I am not very well-informed, the game was advertised as a "Survival MMO" and was to not feature a subscription fee. You may speculate as to how this was ever to make an engaging, profitable game beyond the presence of advertising labels.

I myself have not bought a video game in four years. I share your aspiration.

Your story about COD4 reminds me of a topic-relevant scene from the 2008 comedy series, Arby n' the Chief. https://youtu.be/t19cLpVqp14?si=SFpUJXyzuqIeRsAh&t=315

So you cam here into a topic you had no clue about to make some wild claims against me and about the whole situation and after i told whats going on you come back to make even more wild claims and to show that you still have not understood, wow just wow.

What can be more paifull for the community, then being scammed on purpose? The whole Internet screams IT´S A SCAM !!!!!

Every single game magazine, every youtuber, every streamer, the gaming platfoms themself and i believe even the news already speak about it, that gamers have been scammed. What else do you need guys till you wake up, what must happen till you aknowledge the truth. Tell me please what must happen till you wake up ?

I love Germany. I love German politicians. I love German people, although I am not German. I make no assertions about your character. I will accuse you only of being passionate for your hobby.

The Day Before is not the only game to see a painful Early Access release. It is notable in that it was the only one to make the studio defunct in a day. It is certain that it will happen again, but not whether the refunds will come in again or not.

If people are willing to buy Fortnite skins, you can be assured that people will willingly buy tech demos. Each Early Access claim comes with the disclaimer that the game may not ever be completed, and is not already. Each AAA game comes with a day-one patch and requires an Internet connection to connect to official servers that may one day go defunct.

The very nature of an MMO requires a financially-solvent company providing continuous service for the game. Consumers must always take note of that. I believe it is possible for you to spread awareness on possible scam MMOs, but outside of this genre it will be difficult.

Do you think that I believe this game was not a scam?

Cordially,
THIS GAME SUCKS

If you didn't fall for the scam then why worry about other people who had ample warnings that this game and developers was a scam.

What gets me, I mean what really burns my throat is the people who are defending this game and the developers.... I mean what the hell. Some people will simply refuse to believe they have been scammed and continue to make excuses for the scammers.

Please read what i have written, then you dont need to ask. Im worried about the whole gaming community and the gaming industry, not just about this scam. But other studios now will follow doing the same thing, like they did back then after cyberscam. You are right, i also cant believe that there are still people who deny the extremly obvious truth, its insane :-/
Negasmith Dec 15, 2023 @ 4:39am
It's not a consumer scam, valve will always protect consumers in such cases, like it did. It's an investment scam and they succeded. An overpromising pretty trailer? check. Working for an inflated wishlist statistics, since it's generally a good indicator for future sales? check. That "unpaid volunteers" drama, that most likely means they kept actual budget as low as possible? checks out. So they most likely set a high salary for themselves, while making enough effort for it to barely count as a product and then announce that the product failed as well as the company. Now they have a bunch of money from many months of their "ceo salaries" and can move on to another scam.
