The main thing is learning the different animations for the enemies.
Some enemies I can parry every time others I have issues with! I blame bad timing from me.
The sword knights that point the sword towards you and run. I have no problem parry that move.
It is not suppose to be to easy to parry as it is OP to be able to do it every time.
We are trapped in the same areas until an update or release day, i say go out there and train, i got way better than first day.
I cannot understand people who, having experienced a fleeting difficulty, do not try to figure out what they are doing wrong, but want the game to be changed so that it is easy for them.
When I reached the first boss, I distributed stats very poorly and spent all the food in a few battles. I realized that I was acting the wrong way and began to try to parry his attacks. In about thirty tries, I figured out how to steam two of his attacks and then the boss did not cause any difficulties. I would be very happy!
I think that in games of this genre, diligence is rewarded. Try to study your opponents well too.
But you can dodge his attacks too, if you dont wanna parry a lot of enemies give a large window to get backstabbed after some combo attack, almost all of them have a backstab window, some cannot be backstabbed though.
Some kind of indicator in the attack animation would be tremendously helpful for beginners. As they progress and get better, then make it a HUD option to disable on or off maybe?
In a tutorial? Yes. In the base game? No. Parry should have a high ceiling to master not only because the reward is well worth it but because those that have the skill and/or put in the time and effort should be rewarded for it. Parry should NEVER be made something that is easy or it would trivialize most of the combat.
Guess what?! There is always blocking and dodging. No one NEEDS to parry. Completely optional. Let it be difficult and feel rewarding for those that can master it.
Compared to some other games and/or equipment classes in those, the parry window is quite lenient here. On top of that - any semblance of common sense infusions/enchants makes the parry pretty damn overpowered, if not stupidly overpowered. Not mentioning that many enemies can be circled around and backstabbed after parry ...
You farming jesters or what ...
Parry costs stamina too so keep that in mind.
