No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked

Any rumors about the next content patch?
I liked this game, left a positive review, but the crucible boss hunt thing doesn't really appeal to me so I haven't really touched it since spring. Seems like that's long enough to add some content. Any idea when we'll get the next chapter or whatever?

The official site of the game has more info too, theres a thread with all the recent discord posts, showing images of new enemies, new weapons, including the fist weapons, and the new areas.
The devs also talked recently about the coop and multiplayer, saying something about being working on that for 4 years already, they were in development for a long time before EA, maybe this EA wont take long to turn into release, but the way they talk about what they want in the game, i guess we will see a lot of patches even after release.

The rumors are that your characters will get wiped for the next update and they will delay the release of the next update into late December/early January. Thomas is also speculating in posts to add some kind of "plague" systems, which changes the world even if you are not playing the game, so you probably will get punished for not logging in every day or week.

Total MMO brainrot.

There sure will be some crap attached to the game, the moon account is one, the other thing i dont like is that they said something about an app, mobile game maybe?
I complained about that on their foruns saying that i didnt want them to nerf our PC/Console experience just so the game can run on a mobile plataform, that sh-it should be a afterthought at best.
But i didnt read anywhere about the plague system changing the world while we are log out, if there is any downside to this, like the water system on "Forever Winter", then its indeed MMO bullsh-it.

" We're introducing the Pestilence in this update......something will happen in this update and the Pestilence will spread all across Isola Sacra. The main goal here is to ensure that the overworld will not stay static anymore.....Which then means the player has to fight back the Pestilence.........People in general right now are very sensitive about anything that's tied to time. So we are also introducing a feature which allows the player to control that, but still, some players might be frustrated again if they haven't played in a month and most areas in Isola Sacra are infected. "

Yeah thats crap alright, same anxiety inducing sh-it they did at forever winter with the water levels going down offline, sounds awful, i hope they ditch that before release because this will get a ton of backlash, not good.

I understood it a bit differently. Lore-wise, yes, the plague is bad/something to avoid.

Mechanic-wise, I understood it would change enemies, resources, and loot in the area. If it adds different/better resources and loot it is not necessarily something "bad"/punishing.

Of course it all depends on the actual implementation. I guess we'll see when it releases.

No, not the mechanic, thats fine, if you advance the story the plague system will hit because that bit-ch Madrigal will open the plague gate, problem is this quote: "but still, some players might be frustrated again if they haven't played in a month and most areas in Isola Sacra are infected. "
That is implying that if we dont play for a month when we return things will be taken over by the plague that werent before we left.

Regardless of the general opinion I am just gonna believe they are working really hard on the next content updates. There is so much evidence for that fact. And I don't believe they would just abandon this game.

I paid and play a bit so there would be no going back and refund even if I wanted to. Which as I said I don't.

why do devs not use the community board nowadays...i hate to be in 3000 different discords -.-"
then they wonder why nobody buys there games....of course why would someone buy it if the only things they are post are occasional patchnotes on steam and no further details on future things at least once a month....if i look at EA games the first thing is always to look up what they posted recently...if there is nothing interesting posted then the chance that i will buy/try it is already very low

EDIT: last store page announcement inside steam is from July...i definitly would not look anyfurther in to the game, if i would discover it for the first time

If they force steam users into a mandatory third party account, without disclosing it on the steam store front before buying, steam will probably let you refund. They did the same as Sony tried their bait-and-switch with Helldivers 2 and the mandatory psn account.

Bro if the plague spreads even when I'm not playing the game, and there is no way to disable that mechanic, I'm never playing this game again.

Yeah it's another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass mechanic that tries to force players to dump time into the game for no reason.
