Wipes in all Early Access games are almost certain. Systems are added, enchantment pool is going to be different, gems are working slightly differently, etc. It’s almost impossible to make old saves compatible with all of the changes they are doing. If that doesn’t sound good, then I’d recommend waiting until the game fully releases to avoid potential wipes in the future.

There is a lot of games that are EA but dont have wipes (like Hades). It would be cool if the steam page or devs warned about wipes beforehand. Not just "waste another n hours on the content that you already beaten". If game saves explode 4 hours into the game i probably wont replay that. This is the same, but wasted time is a lot bigger.

But some do require a wipe, i mean i understand devs not wiping something like PoE2, or Enshrouded, one has a ton of grind for best gear, the other is a building game, but No Rest is neither.
I would prefer they didnt have to wipe, but i rather have a game without bugs, Tainted Grail is wiping on 1.0, just released the 0.9, and its okay imo, single player game, lots of changes to the first area and gameplay.

Expect more wipes, since devs are thinking of implementing a skill tree, so thats gonna change the game by a lot, for the better imo, ichor system is trash, makes no sense at all.

II understand that but it dosent make wipes feel better. Specially when you know that you wont have time to play, and the time you had just feel wasted.

Looking at Tainted Grail, very glad I didn't play that game, It looks fantastic so it will be great to experience all in one go.

Is there an actual official statement from the devs on this or just forum speculation? From what I can tell it seems like the latter.

You are right, it sucks, its not good even when necessary, thats why im waiting for tainted grail to go 1.0, i have started the same char 3 times already hehehe, i tried different builds too, but i cant replay the prologue again.
