No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked

Question - future wipes ?
Question for Devs if they see it, or anyone who's seen info / confirmation on this elsewhere - Will the character wipe / requirement to restart from the beginning with the Breach update be something that happens again with future updates / the next big update, or is this wipe with the Breach the last time this will happen?

Asking as i'm not sure whether to just wait until 1.0, if there will be 1 or more wipes coming after the breach. As i can see myself putting lots of hours into the game with Breach, I already have before it and even then having everything wiped was a little frustrating (totally get it though), but putting another 100hrs into breach then having to restart again might deter me and make me wait :(

Any info anyone?

Thanks in advance

We'll most certainly wipe at 1.0 so everyone gets a fresh start and because there's still some systems that'll go online that will have a dramatic effect on all characters.

Other than that, I don't think you have to worry too much!
Ok thanks Thomas, wiping at 1.0 makes sense of course, if there's no wipes between breach and 1.0 that would be cool.
Looking forward to putting many hours in from the 30th, congrats on the game, playing it has given me that same feeling of when i first played Fable Lost Chapters, or Skyrim, you've got something special here!
All the best

I don't know how other players feel but especially at this point after the Breach update, if possible to have a legacy mode where the old characters remain when 1.0 is released would be a huge benefit for people who don't have the time to invest another 60 hours to just reach the point where they were at but want to experience the new content. You could disable multiplayer in this legacy mode.

I can understand these wipes if there was an economy involved but... And if for example removed items or traits can be one argument to wipe everything, you can still wipe said items from everyone's inventory but keep the rest and the character progress.

Looks like someone doesn't understand what Early Access is.

If you are the kind of person who is upset by resets or bugs, it's better if you stop paying money for games that are still in the beta stage of development.

Of course, it would be even better if developers were not allowed to make money off of Early Access, but I guess that ship has sailed.

I think you should speak about year/s, not months, and if I had to throw a random number I'd say late 2026 early 2027 for 1.0, but we'll see how often the devs will be releasing updates.

With today's update, the game has more or less doubled in content.
