No Rest for the Wicked

Will Breach fix performance?
There were other patches that promised to improve performance and the game still ran like crap. Is there anything different about this update? After all the issues I faced, I'm not even excited about the update and not sure I'll even try it. I have a 2060 btw and could even run at 30 fps at launch.

The Breach will bring a ton of optimization to the game. I don't know how much it'll improve by, but I recommend playing once it comes out just to see how much it helps.

Yeah, I guess I should at least try. It's just that the performance issues ruined my first experience with the game and I didn't want to repeat that. I hope to upgrade my PC at some point, but I really shouldn't need one for a game like this.
I'm currently playing on a 4080super / i7 14700k /32gb ram, and the game has improved quite a bit compared to the first few days, but it still needs work.

The new Crucible mode is becoming unplayable, with constant fps dropping, some crashes when using warp to town, and frame rates dropping during very long play sessions, forcing me to close and restart the game.

Im sure like every update of this size we will have a ton of bugs to deal with, expect a few hotfixes to come right after, devs cant catch them all, PC gaming being what it is with a ton of different specs.
rtx3090 here. just started playing the game and I did noticed alot of stuttering and ramdom fps drops. game never crashed on me tho but It does need a good amount of optimization.

Game runs so incredibly much worse after the update, Literally unplayable, and that's after a RTX2080->RTX4070 upgrade.

If anything, its worse now than before the patch. Since launch last year there were ups and downs but generally a mess so I wouldnt get my hopes too high for a consistent fix in the forseeable future.

Try this: Use MSI Afterburner to see if you maintain a sustainable or above 60 fps. And check the 1 and 0.1 percent lows (hopefully will also be in the 60s or close). If there are huge discrepancies between your average fps and the beforementioned two values cap the fps ingame closer to those but not below 60fps because the movement will feel janky anywhere below that. Its going to decrease the microstutters. Optimisation of this game is and has been garbage since launch. Its not a problem with your PC.

I just played it. It definitely runs better than at launch, but still a lot worse compared to Diablo 4 or Elden Ring. I don't care if it's made by an indie developer. I've played plenty of indie games that weren't poorly optimized. And they're also charging a premium price given this is early access. It will be $60 or $70 for full release.
