No Rest for the Wicked

Are strength builds good?
I just did a respec to try out this greatsword called corpse smeared blade. I'm sitting on 60 strength and the weapon's attack power is at 300 yet I feel like I'm barely even tickling the monsters on crucible, is this intended? or maybe I'm not doing it right? are you meant to only head into the crucible with fully maxed out gear?

Diminishing returns.

As for OP. unique weapons as well as plate armor are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Cursed weapons are what you want. Four enchants, and a socket.

As far as being a strength user. In this game it doesn’t matter, in the future it will but for now you can be an unga bunga player as an intelligence build. If you’re dead set on running strength, I would recommend the claymore, or the gnarled saw. Festering earth is ok too, but it’s got a longer charge time than the other weapons.
if you wana play it safe just get unrepairable and undestructable youd get 1 extra enchant without the curse i have 1 piece with that on helps repair bills a lil

I have 45 strength and my two-handed sword have 330 dmg. In real combt it deals 500+ dmg. Improve your build.
Put dropkick on you 2 h weapon and see what it does

I've been running a strength build that I'm quite happy with. The Claymore used to be my favorite 2H weapon. But since The Breach was released I believe they've slowed it down and there's a sizable gap between recovery time after a combo that can leave you wide open.

2H weapons suck in this game. That's just the honest truth of it. Even with the extended reach, they simply don't deal enough physical damage or poise damage per hit to justify being so slow and not having a shield. The only reason we use them is because they're FUN. If you want to 2H something, I've found Harvester's Dread to have a much better weapon art combo despite dealing less damage when maxed out.

However, the best strength weapon by far that I've used personally is Tongue Splitter. You can easily buy it from the Blacksmith. It's fast and has a devastating combo with seemingly endless pokes, which can break poise on bosses almost as easily as dual daggers can.

Just gave it a try. That's spiffy. It's basically the power of a rune attack like Breaker Thrust with only cost being stamina. But unfortunately it strikes me as something the devs will nerf.

so far i've played 2 builds. Dex with dual daggers and lightning spamming attack and it worked well. With strengh I had more success with focus oriented build, as much focus generation you can get and spam rune attacks instead of normal attacks or charged.

All stats are great if you decide to stick either with one offensive stat and go all out on that to at least lvl 42 or you choose 2 and level those equally.

Sadly you then get locked out of all other weapons until you can respec late in your playthrough
