๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Patch Notes - Early Access Hotfix 3
The Watcherโ€™s call has been answered, our biggest Hotfix Patch has arrived!

We improved Performance, Balance, Loot, Harvesting, Graphics, fixed progression blockers and added new options in the Settings Screen. A good few dozen other bugs across the rest of the game have also been squashed.

The amount of feedback, bug reports, and reviews weโ€™ve received so far has been awesome! Please continue sending them in!

  • Improved area streaming, making the game feel smoother while traversing across different areas
  • Dynamic Resolution Scaling is now less aggressive, maintaining higher image quality
  • Improved culling for off-screen physics objects and characters
  • Fixed culling for bird animations, improving their performance in levels (thereโ€™s a lot of them!)
  • Additional Shader Optimizations for performance mode
  • Fixed a leak which increased memory and CPU usage the longer the game was played
  • Optimized rain and other GPU particles
  • Opening Cinematics and Ship Prologue Optimizations
  • Memory optimizations for character customization textures

  • Adjusting Brightness / Contrast / Saturation no longer breaks HDR rendering
  • Fade to Black now actually fully fades to black in HDR mode

  • Added Camera Zoom Adjustment Option
  • Automatic Camera Zoom adjustment for handheld devices and Performance Mode

  • Added a new menu for exiting the game which includes both Exit To Main Menu and Exit To Desktop (localized text for this menu is coming soon!)
  • Adjusted Repair menu size to accommodate for text in other languages

  • Weapons parrying now consumes Stamina (Shields parrying remains unchanged)
  • Nerfed Gain Focus On Focus Use enchantment
  • Unarmed can now land hits while enemies are on the ground after performing a Backstab

  • Adjusted Dig Spot rates such that Clay drops more often
  • Reduced the number of hits needed for Dig Spots, Ore Veins, and Trees

  • Fixed the crane not turning correctly in Nameless Pass and blocking players from progressing

  • Fixed Falstead Darak dealing damage during his transition while he is still human

May I suggest you consider some of the risk vs reward mechanics for parrying in Street Fighter 6. In SF6 parry consumes stamina, however, if you successfully parry, you regain stamina. Because the risk of failed parry is so high, increasing the reward matters, particularly in a game so dependent on stamina meter management.

So the "fix" for the crane in Nameless Pass is still not working. I tried seeing if I can glitch to get around this on objects, but its definitely still not working, so I'm stuck until you do another Hotfix

There are still issues with Chinese translation. This patch update is completely negative for my 3060ti. Previously, I was able to run at 60-70 frame rates in most scenarios, but after this update, I experienced even more severe frame drops in performance mode, with only a pitiful 30-40 frames.
This is a dog poop update. Before, at least I could still persist in playing (I have been playing for 30 hours), but now this optimization is just a piece of โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ.

Performance is a lot better with the new patch. I noticed some stuttering when I first logged in, but after a couple of minutes it was gone. Now I can finally play 60fps @ 1440p 3060ti

Thanks for the camera zoom slider. It makes playing on the steamdeck better and we are able to appreciate the graphical details.

Great patch, thank you for your hard work devs - saw huge improvements to FPS.

Not pressing, but wanted to +1 that permitting crafting stations to pull resources from nearby chests would be a great feature.

Finally, some feedback on resource point (tree/ore/dig spot) durability changes. I know this may be subject to several balancing rounds before release, so wanted to flag that reducing the number of hits felt overtuned to me - especially for trees (less so for ore, I think Skyrim has programmed our brains to accept three hits of the pick axe). Its a shame to let the stellar animation work go to waste, and I appreciated the slower beats of resource gathering.

Thanks again for all your hard work, I loved my time with your early access.
