Parry window too small
I really feel like the parry time is a little to small. I'm practicing with the claymore and I just don't get a feeling for when to parry, neither while listening to the sound nor by looking at the animations. I don't feel as if I can "train" this or getting better at it.

Somehow it's easier with the daggers. I don't know, at least it feels like, very strange.

I think 3-4ms would be already more than enough to make it more enjoyable.

Somehow weapons which only can parry and not block with a shield basically only got disadvantages in this game.

I thogh that at first but after some training I got really good with parrying the unique Two Handed Sword from Warrick. Keep training.

To your point about those who cant parry being disadvantaged, i really havent felt that. I used a 2h cursed blade for most of the game. As long as i'm normal or fast roll, its been pretty easy to just work on poise break and then kill the enemy.

Seems pretty lenient compared to game with tight windows like fighting games. It's just not free like in Dark Souls

Alright, thanks, so I just still suck at it. :)

Do you know if items which raise Attack Speed (or % overall-speed) affect the animation / timing?

Hm, that's a point I didn't try out yet. I'm running around heavy-loaded when using the Claymore. Will try to play with lighter weight. Thanks for the hint. :)

lmao thats the sword im using now. Takes 2 and a half days to swing and the only way I can get an attack to land is if I parry.

Yes. It's much harder to play with it than with any other weapon in my opinion.
But that's a good thing. :)

Interesting i actually thought the parry window was on the generous side.

But i think it really depends on the weapon you are using. sword and board parries are really easy IMO.
