Where are save files located?

Ive just tested this: if you backup the save, and say play the game a bit more use consumables or maybe die and get gear degradation. If you load that backup you made. The game reverts back to the position and progress of your backup. BUT, your consumables and degradation are the same as if you didnt load the backup.

Maybe that is saved somewhere else?

Maybe we need to disable cloud saving?

Tried again and it was my mistake, in other games you are able to revert to a backup from the main menu of a game. but this works fine as long as you totally exit the game, paste the old \DataStore\ and start the game again. tested Steam Cloud too and has no effect

So im not so tech savy when it comes to this but where do you actually copy and paste this on your pc? Sorry for the dumb question its just that i lost my day one character save file and i cant get it back and no matter how many other character i make it dosnt save. I tried my best to look in my pc files for game save but i dont know hardly anything about digging deep into my gaming pc. I would appreciate the instructions to this. Thank you

Just change the "Users/<username>" to the one on your PC

I copied the contets of DataStore and after I died a few times I hit alt +f4 and overwrote the files and it worked like charm thanks
