So what does everything think about the durability system?
I actually don't mind gear taking damage and needing to be repaired. But I do think its too costly. For me, it doesn't encourage you to engage enemies or bosses that are giving you trouble. Because if you die several times fighting it, you spend half or more of your money repairing equipment.

Of course you can just put on other gear and use different weapons. But I don't find it enjoyable to have to switch out to worse gear then potentially have an even tougher time fighting a boss or getting through difficult areas due to the worse equipment that you are using.

It's the main reason I haven't bought the game. I also think daily quests and in-game timer are dumb.

I don't care, Dark Souls 1 and 2 did it and no one complained

Almost everybody complained about Dark Souls 2 durability because the higher your frame rate, the faster your weapons degraded.

The durability doesn’t bother me. I just just think the devs wanted the game to be too many things. Instead of honing in on a few aspects, they tried to add a bunch of different stuff, and it executed poorly.

Weapon durability in DS1 isn't an issue. It IS an issue in this game. That's the difference.

I don't care for it. I'll tell you what's worse...the corruption system. I bought a nice piece of armor and enchanted it and it got 3 good stats (yay!) and then a negative one that every time you take damage you also take stamina damage. Stamina management in this game is already tough and that literally just made the armor useless. And trust me I tried to use it and basically one hit all your stamina is gone and then there also seems to be some additional "negative" stamina so waiting for it to regen takes even longer.

That's less a complaint about durability loss and more a complaint about bugged behavior. If I remember correctly that issue was eventually patched.

I'm fine with durability loss in this game given that mobs don't respawn upon death. There's got to be something punishing a player for death-zerging the map and clearing it through attrition rather than skill/fighting wisely.

I'm also fine with costs being tweaked at various levels to not be ridiculously trivial or overbearing even when paired with decent combat performance from the player.

I see the game as being based around letting you try lots of things out. The special moves being bound to weapons is an example of that. You can customize weapons abilities and loadouts which encourages you to have more than one weapon/solution for certain fights. Plus if you explore a good amount you will always have lots of money on you
