It's cool. Fun game.
imo i think soul games are easier in some aspects especially the late Elden Ring where there's no death penalty but enemy's attack pattern in this game are easier to read/predict than souls.
Definitly has a souls feel to it. But it is also way more forgiving than a souls game imo. Parry window is very generous. you can chain dodge through most stuff.
Exploring is very fun in this game imo.
-No ability to reset/heal up at a grace
-Must farm mats for heal pot mats, not unlimited on rest (which doesn't exist)
-Fast Travel is very limited and not conveinent (Town hub and last waypoint only, can't skip around).
-You have attributes, but you level so slowly you can't address item reqs, weight limits, poor stamina, damage, low health
-Zones seem to scale to you, so no easy farming/back-tracking to catch your breath
-Lot of enemies with shields. You take damage on parry AND Poise. Stamina management is brutal. Tons of off screen ranged attacks. Massive firebomb AoE that follows you. Enemy attacks follow your movement and everyone seems to do 360 spins when you think you're behind them and safe.
-Weight management is a joke, Normal or Heavy, even with stat investment, and you're left not wearing half the armor you find.
-Inventory is tight and you have to visit your town stash regularly to keep inventory from filling
This game does not. Yes, the enemies hit you hard and will kill you in a few hits. And yes, you are weak AF and will have to hit them many, many times to kill them. But aside from that, the combat isn't souls-like at all. It's not engaging. You're not reacting or countering what the enemy does, you're just waiting for it to finish doing something before you attack. There are very few abilities/attacks to play around with, very few ways to approach anything, very few variety in enemies, etc.
