Weapon Stat requirements
Just got my forge to level 3 and unlocked the recipe for the Freiheit. I saw it was a greatsword and was like "oh, cool, a new weapon for my strength build." But then it turns out this thing requires dex as well? And not just that, but just as much dex as it requires strength? What?

And it's like this all across the game. There's so many weapons with mixed requirements, and almost all of them have an equal floor for both stats, meaning you have to DOUBLE the damage point investment rather than being able to dip into health, stamina, and equip load. That just doesn't seem sustainable. Am I just splitting hairs? OR are you genuinely supposed to go full glass to be able to wield these things.

Good thing is this is still maybe 10% phase of early access.
It is our role to voice out things to let developer notice, see any action or adjustment required.

Oh, yeah, for sure, it's why I'm bringing it up at all. Encouraging multi-stat builds by making all the later weapons REQUIRE them just feels bad for anyone who wants to go all in on one, because then you're stuck with one or two early game weapons. I'm still using my Spalled Axe because I've just found NOTHING new for my build.

I like it, it makes me want to levelup a second toon or 3rd and it goes very fast once you clear the content with your first (with game knowledge and xp pots).

I'm very happy it's there, and an option for people who want it. But I wonder why we can't have both. Cool single stat AND double stat weapons. Where's my building sized hammer that requires 50 STR to even pick up? That's practically a staple in this kind of game!

I feel the exact same way. I also invested mostly in strength, because the first weapon I got was the Claymore (2H sword). I never got a new weapon, because every single sword I found required lots of dex as well. I ended up using a 1H sword that only required strengh but was wack. Never found any good strength swords, besides that legendary one the first boss dropped

I do highly recommend the Spalled Axe. Not a sword, but a very capable pure STR weapon. Can be crafted from I believe level 2 smithy. No match for the reach of the claymore, but it's faster and the attacks have some run up to them. I'm gonna keep my eye out for others. I found something called the Bandit Cleaver once, but it's useless because it's first attack takes about 3 seconds to land (like the corpse-smeared blade running attack)
Irionically, I've ended up with a similar issue with a multi-stat build. Found a cool hammer in the prologue that scales with Strength and Faith, thought "Cool! a paladin weapon! I usually like that kind of character!" and started putting points into those stats.
I'm still using that hammer at level 15, because so far it's the only weapon that benefits from both those stats, and my damage would be noticeably worse with anything else.
It's a cool hammer, you understand, but having more than one option would be nice.

Oh wait, I found something! Took getting to end game, mind, but the Gnarled Saw is a pure STR greatsword. Very flashy moveset too. SO there IS things there, it's just extremely hard to find them. Luck based too, I'd suppose, with the drop pools.
