No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked

Haven't bought the game yet cause of neg reviews
A lot of the negative reviews seems to have a lot of positives in them. It makes me wonder why they decided on thumbs down. I've seen other games that have worse reviews and thumbs up anyway.

Anyway, the only patch notes I'm waiting to read before I buy is fixing and making smooth the keyboard and mouse controls. I will buy it after this.

I hope this type of game becomes huge. I like games with impactful engagements, rather than the Diablo/PoE styled combat where everyone thinks good gameplay revolves around "mob density." It looks so dumb watching OP builds obliterate a screen littered with trash mobs. Doesn't look fun or engaging at all. Most streamers seem like they are brain melted and distracted with other things while playing the brain dead game at the same time.

I do hope they maybe add PvP to the game, even souls like PvP with invasions would work. It seems like a lot of systems in the game already would compliment PvP really well.

Game is great, dont mind the whiners, they went in thinking this was more like Diablo and boy were they wrong, its a souls game through and through, you have to suffer to get anywhere here.

Soon... There's no soon. 1.0 is far from being soon. You be looking at least 1+yrs

a lot? the game is sitting at 77% positive and rising everyday. The game is great and it's still just EA. just wait if you're not sure.

If you sort by reviews with more than 10 hours of playtime the game is actually at 91% positive.

Here's the main complaints people have

1. You need a really good PC to run it. I have a 2060 and 10900 and getting like 20-30 fps.
2. Inventory management is a nightmare
3. Some people don't like soulslike combat
4. Somewhat janky platforming.
5. Not enough customization/ARPG elements (there's some, but feels more like just an isometric soulslike)
6. $40 for only Chapter 1 and roguelike dungeon (around 15-30 hours - more with alts)
7. Consumables for healing instead of estus style healing.

If none of these things bother you, I'd recommend it.

That is a good list, and justified. Probably a $30 price-tag would've inspired much less complaints. I still have high hopes and wait for better keyboard and mouse controls, which I think is where most the "janky platforming" complaints come from?

Yeah. I can't imagine doing with kb/m. With soulslikes you can at least rotate the camera. Idk how you do diagonal in isometric games. I'm on controller, but my analog stick sucks. I actually haven't heard that many people complain about the platforming, but it's one of the things I dislike so I included it on the list.

Also, with the Steam score, it was at a 58% right after launch so it has been increasing. One thing I forgot to mention is the durability issues, but the developer made them less punishing with patches/hotfixes. They also claim they've optimized the game in patches, but my performance is still terrible.

The game is awesome. Most negatives I see are about difficulty but man it's really not that bad. It's challenging which makes it really fun but not as hard as Dark Souls or something. Gotta use a controller for this.

I find it as hard as Dark Souls (or close to it). Maybe you guys have PTSD from your first DS playthrough, but if you go back and replay them you'll realize they aren't nearly as hard as you thought they were.

While the overall rating does matter, I ignore most of the one liner types and read the good and the bad well thought out ones.

Well , the game is EA and still very much in development guys so patients can be with this game as of now a very big virtue.
Im sure a year from now the game will take on a much better grasp on how much and where the game will be headed.
Alot of our whishes should be visible by then so just be patient. A huge improvement right now would be to see longer quests with deeper story line. Right now main story quests are short and to few, you can comfortably play No Rest For The Wicked in 12 hours witch i find disappointingly short . I wish the game success ...

DITTO

Since I started using this metric to make a better informed decision w/ 'context'

Gamers on Steam who've put in atleast 10+ hours into a game I value more.

Most 'negative' reviews come from people who don't READ/RESEARCH' and quit early on.
