Keyboard control.
Will it be convenient to play on the keyboard?

This sounds unwieldly but there's a setting called "Auto Target Enemies" that's on by default and appears to work quite well based on gameplay footage.

So it seems like it'll be fine. Walk around with WASD, character automatically faces enemy, then attack/dodge/parry. I would guess the various actions will be split between mouse & KB buttons/keys. I couldn't find any information about rebinding unfortunately but if it's possible you could probably play the game with just KB alone.

These are just my observations from videos/articles and a little bit of speculation.

I don’t think it will be convenient, but I’m sure you can use a keyboard, but why would you? Put a controller in your hands and kick back. Why anyone wants to play a game like this jacked up on a keyboard and mouse when you can put your feet up and relax is beyond me. I’ve got my PC hooked up to a 65 inch Sony 120hz 4K TV. I’ll be on the couch chilling.

But if that’s the way you roll then more power to you! :praisesun:

The previous 2 games were in 2D. Therefore, it is interesting how convenient the control will be there.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Wait. It doesn't rotate to face mouse? What is this foolishness?

However, actions can perform toward the cursor.

What most players are used to in isometric games is when your character is moving forward, mouse movements will usually rotate the character. In NRftW, the character doesn't turn until performing an action toward the cursor's direction or using WASD independently.

It is a little difficult to explain but it behaves more like a third-person perspective game but without camera control.

However, if run is assigned to a mouse button, you can twirl around with a holding click.

At its current state it is impossible to play the game with KB&M in the same way you can play it with a controller.

however it's a REQUIREMENT to do proper separate bindings for :

- Jump and Sprint share the same key which (combined with diagonal movement requiring to hold two keys simultaneously for WASD) leads to platforming sections being the biggest killers. Those must be separated (unless artificial difficulty through clunky controls is your goal).

- Sidle the wall and action keys are shared too which leads to unwanted moves in a lot of situations (because those chests are very often close to walls and when trying to open a door you don’t want to end up stuck to it instead).

also other keys like action confirmation in the inventory are set to spacebar while instead they should be tied to the player’s choice of the action key (E or F). You need to allow the player to set those too and to be honest, all the UI actions just need to be clickable with the mouse - currently the UI is very inconsistent with those.

Because controllers are uncomfortable to use. They are inaccurate. They tend to require cheats built in such as "Auto Target Enemies". Because we have used kbm for 30 years and like the way it controls? Because we don't put our pc on our tv we have a room with a pc at a desk with a comfy chair where we get lost in digital worlds?

Why would everyone have have to conform to your understanding? What kind of perspective is this?
