Exactly. This game was designed with this camera angle in mind and they designed the maps and put in systems to support it. I wouldn't hold my breath for more camera options.
Of course this is assuming the background is hand painting, it looks like it, but i cant confirm this.
In short: It's no trivial addition you're asking for. Also I think it's not what the artists and devs behind the game intent it to be. So if this is not for you you should probably just pass on this one.
