No Rest for the Wicked

New character on existing realm is tedious and frustrating.
As soon as you spawn on the beach the world difficulty is set to "Deadly" and everything 1-2 shots me.

Even if I just run to Sacrament and equip starter gear, its still a incredibly tedious experience fighting crabs on a beach that can 2 shot me while I barely do damage.

I saved a ton of gear from my main for the purpose of other character builds but this experience is so lame that I'm just gonna call it quits on this.

I also want to say that I'm not the type of person who uses exploits like the XP potion farm. I want to play the game as the devs intended and right now this aint it chief.

Your location is saved per character where they logged out at. That means you could logout in one realm at store, base, repair shop and adventure in 4th realm. When you need something you change realms.

As EA advances there might be changes that break old saves or there might be total wipe, it's not confirmed, but if it does happen our current playtime contributes to experience and skill, so using glitches to advance or gain advantage/knowledge is the best thing you could do atm

If you want to stay genuine and go trough content you dislike, like grinding a new character to check other weapons and eventually figure out best build for you, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

So dash to the community stash, grab your gear, and start a new realm with your freshly adorned noob character. Don't try to duke it out with high lvl mobs with a new character even with good gear. That gear will make the starting area of a new realm a breeze.

Ya once you finish the campaign that's what happens. I hope they're going to adjust that as EA rolls on b/c it makes ALTing really not worth the trouble. If you start a new real it should be a new realm back to default difficulty.

Right now you gotta Alt before you finish the last mission if you don't want to deal with that.

then just start a new char on a new realm if you want to reduce difficulty?? or just run to the left whisper from the beach and you dont have to fight anyone to make it to town lol.

and for what reason you have to start in your main realm ? new realm , level there come back if you are not so weak anymore ...beside that is not so hard to go to the left first teleport even nude , without getting hit and port to sacrament ... but leveling here is a nono ...

why would you want to kill mobs in an existing realm tho? if you want to have additional farming possibility, then create a new realm and level up there, until you can savely play in that one realm.

New realms do start with default difficulty...It's only a problem if you're a bonehead and make an Alt on the existing high level realm and expect to not get 1-shotted.

I'm not sure you guys read the whole post. I cover running to town and equipping starter gear. I didn't say things are impossible but very tedious.

The whole point of doing an alt character was so I could equip the legendary items I saved in the community chest with the purpose of giving it to my ALT.

The game in its current state doesn't have a RESPEC option so making a new build this way sounded good on paper.

I have ended up starting a new character on a new realm but it does suck that I wasted all that time farming good drops for an alt.

Yes, the game doesn't currently have a respec option (which they're working on btw), which is WHY when people make new chars on their current realm, they use the XP pots. You didn't want to make it easier for yourself and do that and now you're complaining that it's hard without it lol. I just deleted all my saves with my fully levelled characters and realms to start the game over completely fresh and I'm enjoying it. You've seen what weapons you had before so you can start planning which stats you will be levelling on a new character.
Also, even on your levelled up realm, its not impossible to level up especially since the first legendary 2h only needs 11 str. You can easily upgrade your gear even at lvl 1 since you should have the mats and level up pretty fast if you're careful

How is it tedious when you can instantly warp to Sacrament almost as soon as you touch down on the beach? You did say you're playing on the same realm, right? So head left to the lighthouse whisper and port to town...grab your gear and start a new realm to mollywop.

I don't understand the complaint here. A new character on the same realm can be at the community stash within a minute of hitting start.

Getting to Sanctuary is not an issue. I never said it was.

I literally just tested this out again. Game is open on 2nd monitor as I write this.

Made new character -> went to sancrament to get basic items I can equip at lvl 1 (stuff in my community chest requires at least lvl 11) -> go back down to beach and fight the monster dogs and witches and they all 2-3 shot me while I have to hit them upwards to 20 times.

Its the same with enemies at Orban Glades, Mariners Keep and Nameless Pass.

HOW IS THAT NOT TEDIOUS!?

19 hits on the big monster with the worms sticking out of him and thats HALF his HP with a basic ass "Blood Rusted Sword".

This guy is in the cave north of the whisper at Orban Glades.

ALL the enemies are just as tanky and strong as this dude.

THIS RIGHT HERE!

Realm hopping seems to be the only real solution outside of exploits. It is what it is.

I fully admit that this idea didnt cross my mind even though it was right there in my face.

Thank you Crylz.

The solution is for Alts to spawn IN Sacrament, since they're useless until they get some gear.

You don't seem to understand how the game works.

If you've killed the 2nd boss, then all the enemies in the entire realm are going to be between 21 and 30 (if not 26-35 or something like that).

So you're creating a new character, putting on level 1-10 gear, and then complaining that enemies at LEAST twice your level are killing you easily...

Well, duh...

Have you played games before?

You can put your gear in the community stash, either get it from that realm then go to a new realm, or just start a new realm and grab the gear when you get to Sacrament. Don't be dumb and try to fight level 20+ enemies at level 1.
