Healing flask IS better
What would you choose:
Farming flowers and mushrooms just to have not enough/too much?
Or healing flask that replenishes at campfires?

I like this system better

why not both!
it make sense that you farm for your food, to restore your health... is that on real life?
also, a flask works too
so, I suggest they put both of 'em, with less w8 time to use the other one

I vote farming flowers and mushrooms

You can also just buy the stuff you need you know.

A suggestion from the official forums I liked was a very rudimentary healing item that replenishes only when you die. If you wanna do the BOTW cooking stuff for buffs, das coo. But this system doesn't gel with "just gitgud" mentality.

The Estus Flasks in Souls only give you HP back, which doesn't have all that much depth. And the charges have to be split between the Mana Estus and the HP Estus, which I always found quite annoying.

It all comes with advantages and disadvantages - Yes, you have to do a bit of farming with our system, but I also think that food is pretty abundant and Gordon sells ingredients as well.

Once you're a little further into Wicked and haven't beaten your head against a wall for way too many times, you'll probably have quite a lot of health items in your inventory.

But we're definitely receptive to feedback in this regard. It's just not as easy to 'just copy that other thing', because Wicked is a different game than Souls.

The Estus System also doesn't really work once you consider Multiplayer because it's completely tied to enemies respawning at the bonfire. In Souls, a bonfire is a checkpoint and the Estus charges are the amount of times you can course correct for mistakes you made. And all that gets reset completely when you die.

So all these 'just implement the Estus System' suggestions don't really help us since they stem from a lack of understanding. Yes, we could rip off the Estus System for now, warts and all, but that would break Multiplayer. And the other problem is that we want all the systems to work together - If you're looking for potatoes, you're encouraged to go to the Nameless Pass, if you need Mushrooms, you're encouraged to go to the Shallows, etc. to get those items. Once you have a heal system that just auto-replenishes, a lot of that goes out of the window.

I am freaking confused by your game I can't refund. Is this ARPG? Is this another uberable souls-like? Is this MMO grind fest?
What is it?
My problem with this game is inconsistency. You want me to farm soups to then have too many. Why? What's the point? To run same locations over and over? And if have too many soups I will never run them at all. I don't see the point. Neither in healing system, nor in durability. They add tidium to already frustrating game.

I really enjoy the farming.

I would just like better item management at some point. I have 20 boxes in my house and it is just a bit much. I know you are working on the game so no worries.

We'll just have to wait until multiplayer is completed to decide if this food system is better. Though the inventory space does make it somewhat annoying when there are so many ingredients and so many types dishes to craft.

Also when I've used the last of a dish in the middle of a fight it may default to a basic mushroom when I actually want a cooked dish and now I gotta select food while trying to stay alive.

It would make it a bit better if we can at least restrict the game to only let us select cooked dishes in the quick select.

I like the cooking system and I hope there will be even more diverse food with different buffs.

You'd prefer a single chest to put everything in.. or do you mean just a boxes with more slots?
Right now there are boxes with 35 slots. I would imagine that bigger ones are on their way

I second this!

Just look at Valheim. Food adds HP and stat bonuses, while healing items heal. Interesting, deep, fun. What's the broblem in doing the same thing? Why reinvent 00s game design?

I feel like current healing system is too strong. Personally I feel like food should replenish health over time - and move instant healing to potions/alchemy. At the moment, to me, Alchemy feels a little lacking.

Just less boxes. I have boxes with 30 items, at least for consumables. Did they raise it to 35 now? I see stacks are 25 now.
