Parrying is a lie
Clicking MMB before attack - got hit, stunlocked, dead.
Clicking right as the attack connects - got hit, stunlocked, dead.
Clicking a bit after getting hit - got hit, stunlocked, dead.
Cicking on some animations - got hit, stunlocked, dead.
Clicking on others - got hit, stunlocked, dead.

BUT SOMETIMES IT WORKS! No idea why.

Also animations have nothing to do with hitboxes, they are from separate games I'm sure.
And tracking on enemy attacks is the most inconsistent I've ever seen. Sometimes it can turn charge 180, and sometimes they stuck in walls.

Why? Who the hell made this and how it got thru QA?

I used cheat engine to slow the game to 0.5 and parrying seems to work only when the game wants it to. I had fights where I missed 4-5 parries in a row and other times I parry everything.

I'm playing For Honor since beta. I've 100% Witcher on hardest difficulty possible. I've comleted father of souls-likes - Blade of Darkness - on all characters. I can parry/dodge/whatever.
But not in this particular game.

I really don't. Keep at it. You'll get the timing. I suck at parrying and rarely ever do it in Souls, BB, Sekiro, Elden Ring...but I do it all the time in No Rest.

I gave up on parrying and embraced dodging. Parrying doesn't seem to be rewarding enough to justify the risk. Plus it would take me too long master the mechanic. It's pretty difficult to pull off consistently. You pretty much have to relearn how to parry with every enemy. I might try again with my next character when I play sword and board.

Pretty rewarding when you heal almost all your HP every parry, or fill your entire focus bar, etc. There are gems that do all sorts of "on parry" effects.

Ok..... what use are those when content can be destroyed without it? Faster and safer....

Ya there needs to be a more obvi visual queue like a flash or something that tells u perry now with a 3 or 4 frame leeway to react. I only perry bosses b/c they're larger and a bit easier to read. Got like 1% success rate perrying regular grunts much safer to just rolle.
