Stutters and FPS drops
I really enjoy the game, but poor optimization are just kill all my desire to play this.
Sometimes game just start to freeze on 0.5 sec, it can happen in the middle of a battle, that just make a combat-based game literally unplayable.
I noticed a fps drops in some particulary scenes, and in combat when me or enemy do attacs. I play in 1080 res with high graphics setting, and i get something around 40 - 75 fps, with mentioned drops to 25.
Does enyone have these stutters too?
My specs: 3070ti, ryzen7 7700x, 32gb ram, game on ssd
I hope devs will fix those slops before 1.0

FPS drops and slowdowns for everyone. Perhaps the owners of 4090 do not have them, but this is not certain.
Everyone who writes that they don’t have freezes or FPS drops is either lying or trolls.
This is by far the most critical flaw in the entire game.

I'm running an i7 12700k with an RTX 4090 and NVMe. The frametimes are VERY inconsistent even for an RTX 4090. The devs will definitely need to do some massive tweaks to the game because as good as it looks, there's absolutely no reason outside of lack of optimization that a game like this should perform this bad. Some of the weapon art with magic particles will have massive slowdowns. The witches that throw the fire give massive frametime spikes. The mountain gate at the end of the nameless path has massive drops in framerate. Anytime there's a zone transition there are massive frametime spikes. The entrances to Sacrament to example always have big hitches.

I'm running it on a 7900xtx and I also have fps drops when i'm navigating between different zones.

I think it's mainly due to how the shaders, world/zones, textures etc loading/unloading in ram/vram because when i am in the middle of a zone I have nearly zero fps drop and the game run very smooth.

Dubious... no problems with 4080@7700x 32GB RAM 6000Mhz

Other than traversal stutter spikes, I can't find anything unusual. The frame times are not inconsistent for me.

Similar to you, between 25fps and 60+fps. Much worse for me in the open world, Glades, and into the town. Generally a locked 60fps in underground/closed areas. Huge drops during battles, especially with lots of effects going on. Probably getting 35fps on average, but just huge swings almost constantly.

I got an ROG Ally Z1 Extreme, just played it today at Turbo 30w, 1080p, Balanced Quality and I get 45-60fps, however, stutters and frame jumps suddenly occurs. Tried lowering it to 900p to 720p and it still there. It is a nice game but devs should fix this.

Treat the symptom, not the disease, eh? No. The game should run fine without needing DLSS, that is something the devs need to make happen.

dlss wont fix the stutters anyway, just a fps boost which would be cool, it's coming :)
btw if somebody know how implementation of dlss works i would be happy to learn more about it.

Does it need training? specific programming for each game? i always wonder why it takes time to implement dlss

Thats a lie, you dont know what you are looking at. Im on a 4080 Rog strix and its not smooth.

Oh, we do. We absolutely do.

And you're running in 4K with everything maxed?
7950X3D with RTX 4090, 64GB 6GHz RAM and 12.5GBps bleeding edge NVMe. It stutters. Oooooh, it stutters. And I will to my death say it is due to Unity. All tests ever done shows that Unity has severe performance issues when it comes to large data handling, no matter how much you use a custom render pipeline and try to optimize it.

But didnt they made a new engine from scratch for this game?
edit: after some research, it uses a customized unity engine
