That would be a welcomed feature. Sometimes you need to pause the game as life happens.

Also, I do not understand why certain features (like refining materials or upgrading buildings) have to happen in realtime. Why not instantaneous? Why do we have to wait?

In an online session I understand not pausing the game state but as a solo experience (and as a parent) the number of times I need to pause are high. Instead, I have found myself having to just quit the game altogether which is an unfortunate side effect of not having a pause. I hope that it can be considered for solo adventures.

i dont agree on this. the game seemed tought around the inventory being real time and would not benefit from a pause, especially mid fight. it wouldnt work well with a skyrim like inventory

Please add the pause option, as we have children we will not be able to play. At least in Offline mode. I dropped the game myself, as I no longer have the time I need to focus on the game, but I loved it and want to continue, but with a 2 year old daughter, I can't always dedicate myself as much as I would like and having the option to pause the game is necessary. necessary. That's why I didn't ask for a refund!

I agree that keeping the mid-fight mechanics intact is a good idea. It is a clear and intentional design choice and any request that goes against something so fundamental seems unlikely to be heard.

That said, a simple black screen that says "paused" which does not allow anything other than "unpause" would keep the design goals intact while also allowing people to have real life distractions.

As stated several times by the developers, they do not use Steam Discussions.
All feedback is to be posted on their forum, under the subcategory Feedback and bugs and glitches under Bug Reporting.

That's unfortunate. They'll definitely get feedback that skews to hardcore players.

Or, you know, you can go and post your feedback on the forum.

Since the game is going to feature multiplayer in the future, a pause function wouldn't work anymore.
Just go back into the main menu and if you continue your game, you're right back at where you left.

I actually like that the building part takes time, but I'm not a fan of it being real time instead of ingame time. There is already a day and night cycle with a clock, so why not use the ingame time? Like upgrading something takes an ingame day.

this is actually what they should do if they want to add a pause feature. asking to put a pause while inventory managing is just skill issue toh

In Diablo 3 you can pause the game any time when you're playing solo. When you play multiplayer, obviously, you cannot. And that is absolutely fine to cater for multiple needs. As many has said before, not everyone can commit 100% of this attention to playing games. Will the enemies I've just cleared respawn if I quit to the main menu? They certainly do if I take a break in Sacrament to look after my kid, so I have to "start over" a section once again.

Same as above, except this time not everyone has time to play 4-8 (or 16) hours a day. So you for instance pick up the quest where you need to upgrade 3 buildings, but you don't have the time to wait for it to happen, as you don't have 3-4 hours to play (I think that's the usual upgrade time for Tier II and Tier III). Or you'd want to upgrade your items to fight a boss, then you have to wait 4 hours for the building to upgrade, then 30 minutes for the new ability to refine items to new crafting materials. And all you're doing is that you're putting away the boss fight 4-5 hours for no good reason.

The building / crafting time only mean they can introduce some kind of micropayment for this to happen quicker, or unnecessarily delay progression to artificially increase play time (while you do nothing really, just wait for the game to allow you to progress).
