What kind of hard drive did you install the game on? I saw a YouTube video in which the player had terrible crackling in the sound.
I do NOT have these problems, or rather only within a traversal stutter. So I assume that the crackling sound is caused by the speed of the hard drive.
I installed the game on a Seagate Firecuda 530 (7,300 MB/s) and ONLY had sound problems within a traversal stutter.
Maybe the idea will help you
Your HDD transfers 150 MB/s... an SSD recommended by the developer delivers +550MB/s or nVME +7500MB/s
Your HDD is simply too slow
HotFix 4 is now unplayable. crashes in opening and random player encounters like jumping in water or moving through the level.
Both the recommended and minimal requirements list a ssd.
How do you not even own a ssd with those pc specs by the way?? that pc must have cost 1500+ dollar/euro and you can't spend 50 buck extra on that? I feel like an ssd has been almost mandatory for 10 years now for gaming pc's. Go buy one asap, and install your OS on there as well.
and actually believe it or not, m.2 ssds are kinda costly here in Egypt, most prices have sky rocketed here recently.
and for the most part my HDD have served me well for the past 5 years or so with mostly no issues at all, but then 2023 happen and now ssds are a mandatory requirement to even run any game.
and for a game that's only 32 gigs of space it kinda feels ridiculous, at least in my prospective.
but fine, i'll save up some bucks and get me a 1tb nmve or an m2 just to game on it since most devs now are super lazy to optimize ♥♥♥♥
