Stop treating streamers better than your customers.
Title says it all, im annoyed with this streamer early access privilige ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It has become such a plague in this industry.
Most games are already figured out with 1000 guides before they even release.

Folks, as much as I'd love all of you to play No Rest for the Wicked already, this build that we showed here is NOT a finished product! We specifically asked Streamers to not show the unfinished content - and finishing that sadly isn't as simple as clicking a button.

This build still contains a bit of stuff that we didn't polish yet and I don't think it'd be good to have players play something that we weren't able to put our stamp of approval on yet.

We're kind of between a rock and a hard place here: If we do release this, you folks will complain that this or that isn't finished yet - if we don't release it, we hear you all say that we should release it. So we picked the former option, so that people would get to see a whole bunch of gameplay right after Wicked Inside. Sounds fair enough?

April 18th isn't that far away and that'll give us enough time to wrap things up. Just hold tight, you'll get your hands on it very soon!

Just release a demo with all the content that has your stamp of approval, and lock everything else. If players try to enter an area that is not ready yet, display a message like "not available in this demo" - simple enough and has been done plenty of times before.

Just lock the stuff that isn't done, let people play what the devs were allowed to show.

It doesn't sound fair, you made effort for a few streamers - can't you just lock out a small portion of it for the rest of players base? You don't have to show the whole game, just the first 5 minutes so we can get a feel for artstyle, controls and if we vibe with the difficulty.

This is called a promotional tool. Use Streamers to play games online, to allow people to see what they've been working on. Instead of letting Steam Promote their game to the top of a list, they use streamers, to help people learn the name of their game. I think you're lack of knowledge in the industry, has really made your opinion toxic. I think that's a shame, you come to this page and said anything, without knowing what you're talking about. Shame on you.

What you are talking about is unhealthy coping. How many people actually watch streamers? Give us a demo and EVERYONE can try the game

A lot of people don't watch streamers. Best way to showcase the game is a demo available to all - anything other than that looks like devs have something to hide and want to push for high amount of sales up front before people realise the jig is up.

dude everyone is talking about the game now - that's gonna mean sales which is gonna mean more content for us

To all the people asking for a demo: you are asking for developers to spend time creating a demo build, i.e to divert effort from working on the game itself. That sounds extremely self-centered to me.
I don't know about you, but I would prefer the devs to spend time on ironing the bugs out so they can release a polished game instead of wasting effort on accomodiating some people who can't wait two months and hate it that streamers could play a game that is still out of their reach.

Come on, stop thinking only about yourself. Two months is not a long time, you will survive. Streamers earned their right to be playing earlier than everyone anyway, they put a lot of time and effort into creating their channels and they play an important role in the gaming industry.

Don't blame Moon Studios. This was most likely a Private Division decision (Take Two's off shoot).

The demo should be available to public with devs implementing suggestions from demo feedback to early access release.

Demo already exists, they did it for streamers which is the main point here. We want the industry to work to a better, customer orientated approach - that is no demos for streamers, demos for actual customers who pay the devs bills.

Oh yes, people will wait and it will be immediate negative reviews stating ''no demo for customers'' I will bet

Too bad that Asmongold accidentally revealed the very unfinished main menu screen that he wasn't supposed to show, so now I'm so shocked by the unfinished content, that I'll not buy your game until it's fully finished and sold with a 50% or more discount. :ori:

That's 1.5 month early acces to streamer ?
Well, people will know everyting about the game and just don't buy it

but streamers are lying and specialy bigger streamers just do positive comments and bait people into games with there links cause they benefit from it its unwritten rule cause they know if they hate on a game and publisher notice that they never get eary acces again ever they most of the time not objectiv about the game that the biggest problem

People nowadays are really complain everything.
Off course, demo will be the best, this nothing wrong they think that is not ready for publish instead give some internal build for streamer showcase.

In the end this is always good for customer has extra information to help them decide buy it or not.
Bransburk Mar 2, 2024 @ 5:32pm
Then should have started Streamer/Influencer marketing rat wheel when game was actually close to 'finish'
