Stuck in game vs king and McGreggor

I think i've encountered a bug in the game but it's very difficult and time consuming to be sure. I complete the first 3 hands, i get to what i assume is the last hand of the encounter where i'm tasked of giving the compte the ace of spades and Mcgreggor a low card.

I do all the required shuffling, the compte gets his ace, mcgreggor gets a two of diamonds. I get a 'well done' message but then the king takes all the money and leaves, and then mcgreggor kills me and I have to start all over.

I've done it all over again twice already with the same result. I also watched a youtube video and they did the same thing but got through. I'm at a loss on what to do. Anyone can help?

I think it will give you a 'well done' prompt even if you didn't get the correct set of cards for the hint, as long as you're doing the trick itself correctly. You might have gotten an earlier step wrong as a result of that and not noticed. I've had this happen to me as well but I was able to get it right on a second attempt.

Did this happen after loading a save in the middle of this scene? For example, between rounds 2 and 3 or 3 and 4? Also, were you winning or losing money for rounds 3 and 4?

We know about this issue and it will be fixed in the upcoming patch!

For now, if you can play the whole Scene through, it may resolve the issue.

i have lots of issues with my Bluetooth controller disconnecting. I'm not sure if it's my hardware or not. Because of that I sometimes have to restart a round so maybe that's the issue?

I lost money the first and 2nd rounds i think. and then i win money on the third round, which is the only one where i'm not using the new technique. Maybe a bug with the last shuffling technique?

I saw the same issue occuring when you finish the round without enough money on your end to do the next minimum bet. I know, there is no next round, but the game gives you the same spiel as if you had run out of money.
This probem occured due to losing twice against the earlier game against the compte while crossdressing. I got around it by raising the bets in the final game often enough to have enough money to (theoretically) go on to a 4th round.

It definitely DOESN'T work. The game is still softlocked at the King vs MacGregor session. For reference, I have done this match with these two, SIX times now, and it still doesn't let me win the fight, as I die always at the end, when the king walks off. I do it all in one run, No save scumming, or resetting of bets. All the way from the table with the King of Thieves, learning of the plan, all the way to the 4th bet/round.

The first round seems to work right: You play two high reds, give them to MacGregor, King mentions that The Red Lion beats him.

Which continues to the second bet: Play two Kings, give them to the King, he than talks about the events twenty years ago on that night.

Moving on to the third bet: We give ourselves two red royalty cards. MacGregor calms down and sits back down. Up to this point though, it has said "Well Done", This specific round says Round Won, not well done. If that matters at all.

On to the fourth bet since its still continuing: Give a ace of Spade to Comte, and a 2, the lowest card you can get, to MacGregor. You suffle the deck, hand out the cards, win the round. At the end of it all, Louis XV says Thank you, I think we're done here, and he doesn't give us a chance at all, to hear us out himself, and we get arrested, and die...

Everything I've done, and probably everyone else whose had this problem, has done everything correctly, if it wasn't correct, it would say round lost, like the other rounds, where you screw up a set, or it says Wrong Answer. Something is wrong with this match with the King, and MacGregor, and I have no clue, what it is. If its a playerside issue with understanding, or a actual issue with the game.

The only thing I can think of, is the fact that my save is outdated. I started playing on, making my save on Build 1.0, making me think that the save was never converted with the fix. Though I have no idea if that is actually a thing. If thats the case, obviously starting the whole game over, would fix it. Preferably I would rather not do that, but if thats necessary, spose I'll have to do it.

It did solve my problem, I'm able to finish that round now.

What version are you playing on? It shows at the top right of the Title Screen.

Also, could you check whether you win or lose money after completing rounds 3 and 4 successfully?

If you could record footage, that would be even better!

Okay, this is a bit embarrassing, but for whatever reason, the card game with those too finally worked, and Macgregor went into another fit after finishing the 4th part, I did everything the same, so I don't really get what happened. I am so sorry to bother you with this nonsense.

To still answer the questions: I believe I gained back what I bet on 3 and 4 rounds.
